Expect it, but mostly because the causes go deeper than you assert.

It's telling that the man she's interviewing is perfectly calm and reasonable, and trying to make his statements. Meanwhile, she is interrupting him and arguing with him (for example, "Illinois, the state of Lincoln, is getting $50 billion in stimulus." Her overreaction ("anti-CNN" and "not suitable for children") is priceless.

pimpdave, you would have been welcome at the Tea Party protests with that line of thinking.
It's true, the President has not raised taxes on the vast majority of Americans (note, the President and his spokespeople continue to use the term "working Americans" as if people who make more than $200K or $250K don't actually work... that's an argument for another day). So, the protests were not necessarily about taxes. They were, however, about spending. The issue for many people is that the federal government is spending a whole lot of money on a lot of different things, some of the money is for infrastructure, some is for bailouts, some is for tax breaks, some is for pork (the bad kind, not the delicious kind). When the bill on this spending spree becomes due, what will the federal government do? Take more loans? Increase the federal deficit? Raise taxes? These "solutions" to mounting federal debt are unaccetable to many Americans, when they do not need or want to give money to AIG, or build bridges to nowhere or pay for a raise for the head of the US postal service.
So, when you say that the government should break up the big companies, well, I agree with you and I think the protestors would too.

Until some racist prick calls my President a "nigger" and I end up getting ejected from the group for assaulting the bigot...
No thanks.

Partly from the Sean Hannity forums, which are hilariously depressing. Partly from happening to hear the bigots calling up talk radio shows (I listen when I'm tired behind the wheel. they keep me awake), partly from the mouth of that fat, worthless piece of shit, Rush Limbaugh. Remember what he said about Donovan McNabb?
Also, I saw Michael J. Fox on the Daily Show last night (he appeared a week or two ago, but I haven't been watching much TV lately, and only caught up last night).
I'll never forgive that fat fucking prick Limbaugh. Michael J. was doing his best to hide his condition. You could just tell that he's embarrassed by it, and has far more courage than Limbaugh ever will, just for appearing on TV, for having no choice but to display some weakness. It's getting harder for Michael J. to enunciate too. It's heartbreaking.
I mention all of this just to point out how ruthless the mouthpieces for your bullshit teabagging parties are, when someone happens to commit the ultimate crime of disagreeing. Or hell, in McNabb's case, just being an amazing quarterback. Maybe Limbaugh feels threatened by a black man finding success without falling into the traps of violent behavior or substance abuse. The bigotry is both surprising and unwarranted.
The point is, you can go and have your pathetic demonstrations all on your own. Thanks, but I'll skip the veiled racism, willful ignorance, and resentment of anyone who reads (Why is being elite a bad thing? Why do you hate me for having a higher IQ than you and having earned a great education? Cause that's the truth. I earned it. I've worked hard. But just because I disagree with you, you have to turn the fact that I am one of the best and brightest into some kind of a strike against me? Especially when I am known for just how humble and giving I am. Sometimes I'll use vocabulary that goes over the heads of my friends, but they all know that I'll gladly tell them what the word means, without being condescending. They know I don't mean it, it's just the first word that comes to mind, to give an example. But I can't stop being me. I can't stop wanting to learn.).

No. I don't listen to Rush. He is a fucking idiot. A link would be appropriate.

Actually, they didn't.
All of the major independent surveys taken before the bailout package was implemented indicated that public opinion was in favour of a stimulus package (admittedly, it wasn't unanimous).
The idea that nobody agreed with the bailout plan is a complete fiction, it's really nothing more than a bogus claim made by those who didn't get their own way. To tell the truth, I'm a little bit sick of hearing it get bandied about so much by people who think it's true.
thegreekdog wrote:Do you support the bailout? If so, do you support all of the provisions of all of the bailout and spending plans? Do you think it's okay if I don't support some or most of the provisions of the bailout plan? And, if you think it's okay if I don't support them, do you think it's okay if I protest or write my Congressman or the President?
And if you think the last is okay, do you think I can do that without being ridiculed by half of the newspeople in the United States, various actors and actresses, and half of the people on this thread?
