I do not think there will be another world war, mainly because of nuclear arms, and since Germany, France, and Britain will never go into war again. The only way it can start again is if some loonies without nuclear arms go into battle...

There will be a WW3. It will be an attempt to destroy Israel. Players will be... EU, Russia, China, Muslim nations surrounding Israel and of course Israel. Keep watch for a seven year peace treaty between Israel and the leader of the EU. 3 1/2 years into this treaty all hell will break loose as the EU breaks this treaty.

Just to clear it up... you see EU, Russia and China all ganging up against Israel, with the Muslim nations... and then everyone signing a peace treaty? So Israel somehow resists all those nations, in your version, right?

And on what do you base your 3 1/2 years timeframe?

From what I gather, Russia will (with Arab nation(s)) move toward Israel to invade. China (Army of the East) will destroy Russia and will kill 1/3 of the human race. The Armies of the EU will do battle at Meggetto (possibly China will be there) in the battle of Armageddon.

Its in the book of Revelation. If you are a skeptic, thats ok, just watch for the 7 year peace treaty as mentioned in the Bible.

I believe in Revelation, I'm just not ready to assign names to the armies prophesied about in the Book. For example, the Army of the East could be interpreted as Iran... basically, I was curious. If this is how you believe, I respect that.

Britain backed up America and Australia. It also helped stabalize its colonies after WW2 and famines and stuff.
America backs up pretty much everyone except N. Korea nowadays with its money and McDonald's.
N. Korea has nukes and doesn't like America.
Russia is at a so-so relationship with America.
China is at a so-so relationship with America.
Iran is pissed.
Taliban is pissed.
Iraq is pissed.
Muslims who haven't read the Koran for themselves and have just been fed the bits which promote violence and 70 virgins are super-hyped to blow themselves up.

Sooo...
American, European and Australian powers
vs.
East-Asian powers
vs.
Pissed off extremists

Canada and Australia feel pretty safe, though. A nuke in the outback's gonna kill 2 guys and a herd of kangaroos.

So I'll just hop on the nearest plane to Australia and chillax in the outback until it's over. Or go to the canadian planes.

the fight will be about water, food, and other necessities. Its either war on iraq, other conflicts currently happening, etc that will start it. Otherwise give it 30 yrs 50 at most

A Guy named Hal Lindsey has written several books on this subject. He has been studying Bible prophecy for, I think 30+ years. He thinks the Army of the East is China because it will have an army numbering 200,000,000 troops. Which China could muster together with their 1 Billion plus population. I just hope none of us are around to see it. :)

Though I don't believe in global warming, this is what could happen if I'm wrong:

The Earth becomes so hot, that Antarctica will become a tropical paridise, while the rest of the world is either becomes unbearably hot or is drowned by the rising water caused by the melting ice caps. The surviving few will make their way to the South Pole, where after feasting on barbaqued penguin, will start a death match, everyman for himself in order to see who will rule the what is left of the world.

For this reason, I hope to purchase pieces of Antarctica in advance and claim what is mine. If any of you would like in on this oppertunity, I promise to give you a nice position in my new world order.

Among people writing books about Nostradamus, Sylvia Browne claiming she can predict your future, Hal Lindsey writing book after book of predictions about the end times (which, coincidentally tend to replace the previous book's predictions when they turn out wrong), and the continual milking of the Left Behind series (including the new game which, aside from the anti-semitism, is a terrible fucking game)...

It's the same message, regardless of the source: "Pay us money so we can tell you exactly when you're gonna die and who's gonna kill you."

How about I keep my money, and use it to live comfortably (with some piece of mind) and donate to the St. Jude's Children's Hospital? Is that so evil and sinful? Instead of tithing my money to some bobble-headed doom sayer who spends his time telling me that I have to sign my life over to a deity so I'll be whisked away to another plane of existence when the end of the world gets here, I'm gonna hold onto that cash and do some decent work with it.

Hal Lindsey gets nothing, I'm giving that $30 to a hospital that researches cures for childhood cancer. I guess I'm going to hell.

Jay you must have seen "The late great planet earth." it's getting a little dated but it's probably still got merit.

The only problem I remember is that like most of the end time things it sounds like everythings going to go down in the next couple of weeks.

Interesting thing about the whole end times concept is that it is something that the followers of Jesus have allways expected in thier own life time. I don't know why but Jesus talked about it that way right to his disciples. Maybe some of it is the way things translate to modern language.

If you read the bible it seems like the things leading to his return are going to happen very soon.

Some things Jesus said even seem very clear that they were going to happen in the person he was speaking to's life time. I don't know what his purpose was in telling it like that but he must have had a reason.

Specifically these.

Luke 21:32 "Truly I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all things take place.

I don't know maybe the greek word that they translate to 'generation' meant something to do with the church and not that generation the way I think of a generation. Like a 10 - 20 year span where everyone grows up in a certain era.

One thing I find interesting is that people love to say "We're closer to the end than ever before." Chilling dude except...

As I like to remind them, "Tomorow we'll be one day closer than now."

Makes me wonder if the "rapture" thing happened then and we're the offspring of the guys left behind.

Jesus says in the book of Luke:

The Kingdom of God will return when you most want to see the days of the Son of Man but do not see them, and no one will be able to say 'here it is' or 'there it is' for the Kingdom of God is within you.

In other words, the rapture will come when everyone really wants it to happen, but it doesn't happen. Confused yet? Well, here's a Go For It! comic strip for you to help with the headache.

Just my opinion but if you're going to "tithe". I think St.Jude's Childrens hospital is probably better than Hal regardless of whether his interpretations are right or wrong.

The only Hal Lyndsey work I'm farmiliar with was a video I watched on network television about 17 years ago. He didn't go so far in it as to name names or set dates.

I would say a person must be pretty drunk, delusional or something (yeah I know they're out there) if they think the "left behind" series is anything more than the fiction that it was meant to be. Who knows maybe it's accurate but it's never the less a series of "novels" therefore fiction.

Left Behind is still loosely based on the book of Revelation (much like the movie Nacho Libre is "based" on the story of Fray Tormenta).

It's as much a religious text as the Bible that it takes its basis from, since the only ones who really read it and pass it along to friends tend to be evangelicals. Much like Chick Tracts, when you think about it.

Chick tracts are awesome!!

The flaky inacuracies make them that much more wonderfull. Plus they are much shorter than those left behind movies, I had minor difficulty sitting through.

Have you actually read one of the books? I'm sure I couldn't and I have a high tolerance for reading drivel as demonstrated here at this forum.
