This suggestion (the non-team part of it) would make it much easier for people to gain points by making multis, and dump points. Neither of these things are encouraged, and making them easier to do should not be a high priority.
Good point Timminz, but how mah people actually get away with multis on here? It is monitered very well and though that idea may be a threat to you, I think there should be some type of penalty for deadbeating.

There are already penalties for deadbeating. You lose points, your turns taken rating goes down, and if you do it regularly, your ratings from other players will reflect it.
What exactly are you trying to imply with the bolded part?
I wouldn't agree with them loosing double points to the winner. Although I see no reason why they shouldn't loose points to the winner as usual and then the same amount being deducted from the deadbeat or deadbeats and distributed between all non deadbeat players that took place in the game. All players are inconvienienced by deadbeats not just the winner.
I also think that if you miss your go, you shouldn't be able to add defered armies. Why should people get reinforcments for goes they didn't take.
This may encourage people to take their go, on time.
ok no points from noobs who beadbeat, so the players who dont deadbeat get inconvienienced for no reason, but what about non noobs who dead beat.
Deadbeats slow up the game, inconvenience to all players, totally annoying. Thats why I suggested that all players in the game, who didnt deadbeat should get the points distributed among them. The winner should still get the points for winning, the rest of the players should get the points for the inconvienience.
It cant be that difficult, when a deadbeat is thrown out of a game for missing 3 goes in a row (I sill think it should 3 goes missed in total) for the points to be deducted and distributed among the remaining players in the game.
I don't really care about points (as my score will prove) the inconvienience of a deadbeat is what p's me off. There really should be a penalty for deadbeating, which at the moment there isn't.

timminz, I had to read this a few times to figure out what I may have said......and no, I am not implying you are a multi.
I did post this in the heat of a moment because a game took much longer than it should have. The other player knew they were going to lose and just up and left. People dont care about ratings and there are a lot of people who just play despite the ranking system. I think that if there were harsher penalties on dumping out then there would be less people doing it. I only say this because there are A TON of people who do live by the rankings and then (some)end up being sore losers when they dont win.
Maybe there is another way then. Has the idea of filtering out the players you want (or dont want) to join games under discussion? I cant just go through and foe everyone who has a rank of 1200 or less.......it would be easier to make it an option in personal settings.

Ok if you feel that giving the penalty point between the inconvienienced players is like farming, take the points off the Deadbeats and throw them away.
My point is Deadbeats should receive a penalty for the inconvenience caused to the other players.
Personally, I think we should track them down and give them a public flogging, but apparently thats against the law, and would be too time consuming.
what about players who would get screwed cuz their partners deadbeated, maybe not double points for winners but at least take all points from deadbeater, why shud somebody lose their points in pointless battle, my skill doesnt mean nothing if we get destroyed b4 all partners armies become mine after he deadbeats

That makes one of my points too.....why should the non-quitting player be penalized for a person who didnt finish. Game play is one thing...but quitting is another.

Teammates are already assisted by this because they receive their teammate's territories and troops if they deadbeat.
you just validated the point even more.......that to me is a form of cheating.......giving the other player all of your assets to win a game.......there should be penalties discouraging that type of play, not rewards to encourage it.

It's not cheating, it's compensation for your team mate not deploying for 3 rounds(no net increase in team assets), not attacking for 3 rounds(no net reduction in opponent team(s) assets) and not forting you troops for 3 rounds(no backup). It still sucks because even though you'll get your team mates regions after they deadbeat, the opposition have free reign in the 3 rounds prior to beat the crap out of you and your deadbeat partner.
