Hmm, not sure I like this new map, a combination of county names and areas. And I lost an army in Ireland on thye changeover:D

I've had something similar as lance kelleher and Deathshead.

Player X assaulted South Leinster from Northern Ireland and conquered it from Player Y

This is graphically not possible.

But since that attack was made against me, I remember how the troops were placed. Kerry attack Cork, 4v1, lost nothing, advanced nothing, leaving 3 armies on Kerry.
Those 3 armies are now on Northern Ireland.

Conclusion: The map seems to think that Northern Ireland is the former Kerry.

The game-play is messed up:

I don´t recall the old territory names, but before the change I was holding what is now called Munster. Now I am holding Northern Ireland instead, and that is messing up my entire strategy in the game so far.

I don´t know, if those 2 terrs were simply switched, but it seems there are more problems & errors. I checked the Game log and found at least one attack, that is not possible:

2009-01-19 19:29:33 - tyche73 assaulted North Leinster from Donegal and conquered it from Pedronicus

Those 2 terrs do not border on each other.

It would be nice, if this could be fixed ASAP, preferably before the time for my turn runs out ...

Concise description:

The game-play on the new British Isles map is messed up (territories have switched), probably due to errors in the xml.

Specifics:

I do not recall all the former names of the terrs on the old British Isles map. Nor do I recall exactly, who was holding which territories in Game 3987720. But here are some errors, that I spotted immediately:

• Before the change I was holding what is now called Munster. Now I am holding Northern Ireland instead.
• There is at least one impossible attack in the Game Log:
  2009-01-19 19:29:33 - tyche73 assaulted North Leinster from Donegal and conquered it from Pedronicus
  Those 2 territories do not border on each other.

This obviously ruins the games, that are in process on the map right now. It would be nice, if this could be fixed ASAP, preferably before the time for my turn runs out ...

change the names in the xml, that will solve the problem, it is getting confusing though

Hmmm - sounds as though Gimil moved the XML around in ordering - that was a bit of a mistake as now any existing games from the old map will be out of sync - this will settle down as they finish up.

Ok. I just checked another British Isles game, where I have been eliminated this round, and I believe I have figured it out now:

The problem, as far as I can tell, concerns 3 territories: Munster (Kerry on the old map), North Ireland (Ulster) & North Leinster (Leinster).

The troops, that should be on Munster, have been switched to North Ireland.
The troops, that should be on North Ireland, have been switched to North Leinster.
The troops, that should be on North Leinster, have been switched to Munster.

What is Avon ?? was it on the old map, it doesnt exist anymore and the territory it consumes on the map is mostly Somerset. As a previous resident of Somerset, it would be great if this was changed.

Im currently in a quads - I had one tert left on kerry now that one tert is northern ireland and is exposed where as before it was protected

Nah, I didn't handle the XML. All I think that can be done is an apology and the advice to sit the storm out. As far as I am aware there is nothing that can be done now to fix this

I'm sorry to say that I like the former version a lot better too. in fact I don't like this new version at all. Why was it changed, it seemed perfectly fine before?

The problem was caused by a slight change in the territory order in the XML. A corrected version of the XML has been submitted to lackattack, and will be uploaded as soon as he gets it.

Also, when u attack oxon on the new map, where u select which place u want to attack, it has oxfordshire instead of oxon, and this probably happened to other places as well

I went from really liking this map, to not wanting to play it. The colors are all washed out. There is little contrast between the lettering and the background. The entire thing is 'whitish.'

The old one was great.

I agree that it is too pale, but it's not bad when you get the armies on it. It's also easier to tell where the territory borders are than on the old one.
