At least the hair in your nose and ears will continue to grow for some time.

This is simply not true. A newborn infant does not pop out with full-size adult eyeballs.
"At birth, the head and structures within it, such as the eyes and brain, are more developed in proportion to the rest of the body. The head and eyes increase in width by only 1.5 times up to the age of 5 years , and after that only a very small proportion more until early adulthood. So the eyes do grow slightly, probably only a matter of millimetres, and only up to age 5 or so."

loaf and lady both came from the same Old English root word "hlaf". Hlaf became loaf (originally bread) and hlafdige became lady (originally one who makes bread).

A garbage bag does not work as a parachute when jumping off a house. That includes the second time as well.

Third Grade teachers don't like it much when you mention "during" or "of" when they are lecturing that a preposition is "anything a rabbit can do to a hollow log".

That in their only war, Canadian (British at the time..) troops burned the White House and also captured Detroit?
We gave Detroit back. Didn't want it.
Don't regret it either.

And, no matter how often you've seen it in the cartoons, umbrellas do NOT make good parachutes. (personal knowledge, here.)
