This will improve the following aspects of the site:

just allow some sort of control when people quote others that have already quoted others that quoted others that no one reads anyways

Getting everybody to add those to their posts wouldn't really be easy to do....

The only thing that might be possible would be if they could hack the forums to include a "Show/Hide Quote" option in the Control Panel that each user could turn on/off. But I'm not sure that would be possible.

I didn't mean for everyone to use spoiler tags, I meant for the quote tags to do that, "Show quote from <username>"

I'm quite amazed how many quotations we have in a thread entitled "Do Not Copy My Quote!"

I can't imagine this happening really, it would be too easy to say "The Fuzzy Pengui wrote"

And it would make the threads more confusing by saying that, because you would have no coloured backgrounds such as we get like :

lol if only it was that easy...If I have to quote just a part of a quote from 1 person ...I know how to do it I think....but just to have alll these other people pushing the quote button of some one that already quoted 5 other people, than having 6 quotes coming up that take up space plus no one reads is a waste I think

How can we prevent people from not knowing how to do it, and click quote of 10 paragraphs of wasted space in a forum...Admit it, you just scroll past wasted quotes that you seen time after time

Not always... It's good because it makes sure the conversation is nice and organized and everybody knows what's going on. The main purpose of quotes is so that people know what you're referring to, and it does that job beautifully. Besides, it's not that bad considering that you can only have up to 5 embedded quotes.
