A lot of excitement stirring in southern california as the trojans of USC win again in impressive fashion of a tough Oklahoma team. The trojans with only one lose since DBandit has taken over the controls is poised to make a run on the top 20
Just 12 hours ago after leaving Oklahoma, the USC trojans land back home to sweet home Southern California to face Colorado. USC was expect to be tired playing on back to back nights but behind a sold out crowd of 50,000 plus, chanting "Go Trojans", there was no time to be tired, and the sold out crowd seemed to energize the high flying trojans as they put on quite a show in cruising to a win over Colorado. Coach DB said after the game, "It is always good to be home" Now the trojans enjoy a couple days of rest before playing in the O'Reiley Auto Part tournament finals

Temple mercifully ends its 6 game losing streak with a 16 round victory at home over Santa Clara (3695940). Reached for comment after the game, Coach Plash Ricrem responded that his team was able to provide an effective full court pressure and hit their free throws down the stretch for the victory.
Wisconsin continues it's road trip with another victory, this time over a very pesky Pepperdine team. That is 3 straight wins for the Badgers who look like they are back on track after the slow start.
With a solid full court press and a tight zone defense Michigan hands #6 Eastern Michigan their first loss of the season. "I'm really proud of this young group of kids" says Michigan coach taxman. "We were able to control the tempo from the onset and put pressure on their shooters forcing low percentage shots." With two victories over top ten teams Michigan is making a push to move into the top 25 in power rankings--AP

Virginia Tech suffered their first home loss of the year to a very talented Marquette team (Game 3676190), who came out shooting lights out and handled the Hokies in front of their home crowd. Virginia Tech could not stay with the up-tempo offense of the Golden Eagles. The Hokies were able to recover and advance to their second Tournament final of the year, with a win over Missouri (Game 3702030). The Hokies took advantage of the Tigers by dominating the boards and creating many second chance baskets. They are preparing to face the USC Trojans in the finals of the O-Reilly Auto Parts Tournament.

After a transportation issue delayed the arrival of the Ohio team, Xavier logged its first win of the season with a 15-point victory at home. Coach Limbo commented after the game.
"We finally caught a break tonight playing an Ohio team who wasn't able to warm up before the game. More importantly, we held on to an early lead and didn't let the game slip away from us. That's progress."

#16 Memphis falls to Western Michigan in their first true road game of the season, dropping them to 5-4 and 1-3 since being ranked.
"It was a well fought game, and an even match-up," coach John Calipari said. "They had a slight edge in being better prepared to play on such a small campus (slightly better drop)."
The two teams went back and forth for a while, but eventually the fouls (bad dice) started to mount up for Memphis and the tide clearly turned in Western's favor. The Tigers shifted to a zone defense late in the game (tried a different strategy in attempting to secure a bonus), but didn't have bodies to defend Western Michigan's surging offense.
Memphis AD Huntyr Green was not in attendance at the game, in protest of Western Michigan defeating his favored Illinois Illini football team, also on Western's campus, a couple of weeks ago.

UConn opened conference play with a win over Georgetown in Game 3695990. The home court advantage was in full effect, as MostMackinest's Hoyas couldn't buy a basket--er, I mean, friendly roll--and the Huskies rolled to the win. Here's hoping the conference season goes a little better than the uneven 4-3 start UConn got in non-conference play.
