Temple's struggles on the road continue as they drop to 1-4 overall with a 7 round loss at Penn State (3632610). Reached for comment after the game, Coach Plash Ricrem could once again only shake his head. "That building is a real tough place to play in, Penn State wins a ton there. I don't think we've been to a building as hostile as this one (playing feudal war for the first time). Memphis defeats Ball State in round 8 rounds at the O'Reilly Auto Parts Tourney (Game 3632716).

The Tigers advanced to 4-1 and have not lost since their opening game. This one was a struggle from the start, though, and their coach was not pleased.

"I just feel that we should have pulled far ahead earlier," coach John Calipari said. "The Cardinals are a good, respectable team, but we established a couple of advantages (bonuses) early on, and kept giving some away (not defending as I should have). You have to give their coach a lot of credit. They fought the entire game and, had a few calls (dice rolls) gone the other way, could have turned the game in their favor. Still, we had the edge in talent (drop) and they just couldn't quite overcome that in the end."

Michigan moves into the championship game of the 2KS tourney with a victory of #7 UCLA. Overcoming a huge opening deficit that had UCLA dropping a bonus and going first with some solid defense, Michigan turned on the jets in the second half and coasted to the victory.

WOW ... what a game! Amazzony was a terrific opponent and it was a back and forth marathon that lasted 18 rounds. I was already conceding almost sure defeat when the dice finally rolled in my favor and the tide began to turn once more. Great game and even better opponent.
