Missed Turns

Postby Mistress Ava on Sat Dec 23, 2006 10:06 pm

In a game where a player has missed 6 turns (We into Round 10) and ran out of time on another.

It would seem that this person should be kicked out of the game...anybody know why not?

A player will be kicked for missing 3 consecutive turns.

I think it's pretty sad that the site administrators foist a plethora of deadbeats on us by keeping the rules lax in order to draw in more members/money. 3 consecutive turns is ridiculous - hell, more than 2 turns (consecutive or otherwise) is too lax. And why give someone armies for the turn they missed? Come on guys, how about some respect for your members - could you possibly sacrifice a little quantity to give us some quality?

First off the quality of this site is excellent. It says on the opening page it is for the casual gamer.I don't think it's money the adminatration is after or they would charge more than 20$ a year for unlimited gameplay. Why does a person get their armies b\c they would have received them if they had played...if the person is such a problem in your game take them out!!!

'Played loads of games - all public - and I don't think I've seen anyone miss as many turns as that and still remained in the game, whether flat rate or escalating. I think the 3-turns rule is fine as it is.

Missed the odd turn here and there especially in the lead up to the holiday season, sometimes life outside CC is more important  .
Seriously if someone has missed over 50% of their turns (after a minimum number of turns then prehaps they should be kicked out).

some people have lives. A provision for 50% of turns missed after turn 6 would result in booting would be ok. But missing two turns in one game happens very easily.

I'm in a game now on the Europe map that's in round 4 and we've already had 2 players booted for missing turns...the first 3 turns at that!....pathetic. I understand sometimes things happen, but with 24 hours to take your turn, it isn't that hard unless you're on vacation. And to miss the first 3 turns of a game you just joined is just stupid.

Double trouble

Postby GTE on Mon Jan 01, 2007 5:48 am

The biggest problem is when a doubles partner deadbeats and gives the player left all of his armies and territory. A huge advantage for the remaining partner. It's a real problem. I'm currently playing in a game with a guy that has had the last 3 games partnered with a deadbeat. Isn't that cheating? WTF.
