The idea of pwning noobs by farming is kind of funny, but not for me. I'd rather just improve my game by learning from my losses.

he never replied to mine, not sure about invitations of other players. Not sure if he gets so many invitations that he usually just ignores them, i usually take the time to at least reply and decline if i don´t want to play. I guess farmers prefer to avoid high rank players.

Great! Just what this thread needed, more stereotypes.

Didn't mean to hurt anyone's feelings by not replying to an invite. I get many a day Seul and Some games just don't rope my interest. I actually do ignore quite a few of them(Because 90% of them are always the same old escalating garbage that just doesn't really appeal). Here's an idea! Try talking with me in a more formal manner and then I'd be more inclined to give it a second thought. Scott-land for example does. He doesn't respect farming but he still talks to me like a human being. So I join many of his invites without hesitation. Switch it up a bit with a dubs, trips, or quads invite something that I actually need and I'm sure you'll get that response. I join Stupid's games, I join Blitz's games, I join Frog's games, I join Comic's games. Not all of them no because I'm mostly trying to do what I do. Besides, I figure that other people on your pm list will oblige soon after your sent message. I'm sure you don't have any trouble filling up your games with your rank. Next time I will give you your much desired reply. If I were hosting a game and people did not reply I wouldn't judge them for not playing. It's unfortunate you haven't gotten to know a different side of me other than what you see and hear. I'm sure we'll cross paths soon. Until then, I know it's hard... but zip your lips. There isn't one person on this site that I ignore other than if they are joining my farming games(And that is just until they take/then poof they are off foe). If I don't reply to them it's because I don't feel obligated. One person that I do feel bad for not replying to is JOHNNYROCKET24. He's been inviting me into quads games(Which I need) for about 5 straight times now with his team batches and our schedules just don't meet up. I would like to play some games with him. His games just fill up to damn fast when I'm at work.

They seem to think points matter. Of course points matter, because they reflect how well you do in the competition. But if you rarely actually compete against challenging opponents, your score stops representing your skill, and becomes worthless.

So again... why do they do it? Here's why: because when they get to the top of the scoreboard, earning most of their points from deadbeat noobs, people notice. And then they get the satisfaction of people complaining about their antics, and they can even tell themselves that everyone's just jealous. It's like a Virtual Reality, where they can pretend that they've made it to the top, and now have to fend off everyone who resents success.

Of course, this only works if we continue to act as if it matters that they're doing what they're doing. Because if what they're doing matters, it's because points matter (whether or not they represent skill), and if points matter (regardless of skill), then the farmers have achieved something.

So, obviously, the only way to knock them to their senses is to admit what we should all know: points are worth sh*t, by themselves. Because while they often represent skill (which is what matters), sometimes they don't. And so, we recognize the skill of those who earned their rank, and that's all that matters. Those who didn't earn their rank, aren't hurting anybody, and are only wasting their own time. They just have a bunch of empty points. So move on.

Just want to clarify: no disrespect meant to King Herpes (the only farmer I know); from what I've seen he's a good guy. I'm only trying to figure out why people (in general) would possibly want to spend their time noob and deadbeat farming. Not really Herpes in particular, but people like Klobber and the other more unpleasant ones that I've run across.

but its hios account and he can play who he wants
not many would have the patience to do what he does

i just wanted to check that but was ignored two times

i wasn´t talking about standard esca games, they are usually sent to several players, some join, others don´t join, and nobody expects a reply. But i invited you to play 2 games 1v1, Waterloo and another map. I don´t reply to all mass invitations, but for 1v1 games i usually do.
I write you in a formal manner, you started to break with formal manner by just ignoring my request^^ I don´t like the idea and style of Farmers Guild, but i respect all players as long as they respect everybody else. I wrote you 2 friendly PM´s, but no reaction. Delia mentioned you would be a good teammate, so in the second pm i asked for a triple too, but still no reaction. Well, no problem if you are busy, no hard feelings here. Perhaps i will ask you for a challenge again more later, but if you will ignore me a 3rd time, i will do the same after and won´t disturb you anymore.
Perhaps you consider to teach noobs instead of bashing them? Ever heard of wachias school of cook? THAT earns respect in my opinion. Would be interesting to see.

Truly sorry If I did ignore those pms. Countless times things fall out of my inbox because of gf, brother, clan members, friends, and people trying to contact me for a game or information on how to play etc etc...I lose important pms all the time. I am guilty of not scanning my pm box for days at a time. I do recall the 1 on 1's(both freestyle). I currently do not have a fact connection on my new computer and it would have been a landslide loss. I must have been busy or else I most definitely would have accepted or declined in a polite respectable manner. Do try again Seul because I've heard good things about you as well in team games. I wouldn't want to sour the opportunity of possibly having a great team mate by biting their head off. Also choose your words wisely people. I don't bash noobs. I don't brag about my rank. I actually share information's with them very often if they show respect. Now please, let's keep it cool. If you have something to say about this thread, then shoot. If you'd rather poke and pry at my capabilities then make a new thread. I'd be happy to talk there as well.

I dont play noobs...thank you very much for that...I join games with noobs who I believe have the highest probability of dead beating. If I played noobs I doubt I would be field marshal,

noob dice + noob cards = unhappy field marshal

The thing is, Herpes... if you're usually willing to play games against higher ranked players, then you don't really fit the publicly-accepted pure definition of a "Farmer." A farmer is usually someone who "ups their rank" primarily from ?'s. It seems you're perfectly willing to challenge yourself.

So we can all agree that dice and cards will carry a lot of weight. But isn't that why this site is fun? To cheat the odds of dice and cards and beat the expected outcome?

I mean, pretty much all farming strategies other than "deadbeat noobs" will tap out eventually because with minimum observation skills, players with a pulse are only going to be farmed on the same map say 2-3 times before they either learn the dominant strategy or just give up the map.

And over in another thread, someone mentioned the number of members on this site, but its like 9 to 1 the ratio of inactive to active. How many are noobs who just get farmed and leave. I had a guy who was 1-9, cadet, ask to join my clan. I looked at his games and he was in triples games with three majors on one side, and him and a couple of cooks on the other. Frankly, I was impressed he pulled out even one win. I would have let him in the clan, but score still has the appearance of meaning and he didn't pass muster. I'll have to check in a few weeks and see if he quits the site or sticks around. Very disheartening.

Not that I will try to excuse it, but they did make the game, and you did join. Its US Senate, no fog, no gimmicks, and your team seems to be doing all right all-in-all. Why no high rank people joined that game on your team... well, that's one of the issues of too many people going off to run their own farms and not enough showing up to compare who grew the best veggies at the county fair.

 The best way to learn is by playing the games where high ranked players are farming you.

If you want to improve, then play the highest ranked players you can find and watch how they play. You can learn a ton about good team play by understanding the way this team plays together
