well, being an avid golfer i can tell you this much. sometimes a little gentle nibble with the teeth, a good strong lick, and a powerful sucking action is needed to get out grass stains on your ballz. so, let me apologize before my admission... however, i am proudly a ball licker.-0
Owen that is damn right disgusting, under no circumtances should your balls be licked. the trajectory could alter and that is bad. please refrain from licking balls in the future.

It depends on how much saliva you leave behind. Hopefully Owen cleans up after himself.
In January of 2006 I gave up Golf and Joined CC. I realize now I may have to revisit my past and start anew. I was not aware of this paticular treatment of the Golfing equipment. I usually Cussed them out. The only moisture that they ever feltwas the early morning dew, the drizziling rain, or the frequent trips to the water hazards.
Maybe this new info might better my game. I will have to set up a golf weekend with my girlfriend and see. She is a much better golfer than I. She may know about this trick already. Out of embarressment I will not ask her, She may think it to personal a question. I will have to spend some quality golfing time with her and and see if she does and if she will help me with mine.
Regardless of weather it's a 2-some or a 4-some, it should be noted that the best players always take a few practice swings, and then they smack those balls with as much force as they can....
Later, when laying on the smooth velvety grass, it is appropriate to gently tap the balls until the hole is reached...

When I first started playing, I used to send those balls shooting off all over the place. Now I've had a bit more practice, I find I can get them to go exactly where I want them to.
I also have my initials stamped onto any I'm playing with - that way there's no confusing who they belong in the unlikely event they should stray off course.

And I am deeply offended by what has been said about golfer's balls. No amount of apologizing can undo the deep hurt caused me.
Forever.
