I did something similar to johnnyrocket once - Flat rate, British Isles, six-player, down to one army in one territory, but luckily had a blue/red/green combination on that turn, and eventually won the game.

I left some comments about it in the gamechat when I was a bit drunk, but no-one took any notice.

I've always assumed that the players in that game must have been pretty hopeless, but in fact two of the other players are fairly good, and still playing I think.

EDIT: actually, I only got 60 points for that game...however good my opponents are now, they must have been shite at the time lol

I may have given up a chance to win in a world map game I'm playing. I set out to kill the blue player and mis advanced leaving one of his territories untaken and me helpless to do anything about it, naturally someone jumped on it and thankfully didn't attack me directly which would have ended me, but it was a huge oppurtunity that I missed.

I actually ended up winning this game, it was down to three players, one had almost everthing, the other had a massive force and I had about 5 territories sandwiched in between them. The one with all the land left me alive for the other to kill so the game would go on, I turn in, kill the weaker one and win in 4 turns

In a USA game, I had one man on new york. Green had one man in New England, and New Jersey. Blue had everything else, including 12 men in Pennsylvania. I had four cards, but no turn in. Green had five cards. I deployed three men on New york. I took New England, then had to go two against one to get New Jersey. I succeeded, and had nine cards. I turned in three times for 75 men, and wiped blue off the board. Vabbe I think was the name of the blue player. I am sure he was upset about that loss, lol.

I have yet to duplicate this experience in Conquer Club, but this is my greatest RISK moment....

Once, playing old school RISK in the real world at the after party for a High School musical back in the '92 -- I was on the tech crew -- I was pushed all the way back to Argentina, which I held with a single army as my last turn began. By the time my turn came around again, I was ready to cash in 3 of my 5 cards (having just barely made a set). I believe I placed something like 80 armies. I pushed north and quickly subjugated a sparsly populated S. and N. America, taking another player out of the game and taking his cards, which forced me to cache in another set. In this same turn, I pushed across the water and conquered Europe and Africa, eliminating two more players and getting their cards. I cashed in more sets, and took over all of Asia and ultimatly Australia, winning the game. In one turn.

I went from one army in one territory to winning the entire game, all in a single turn.

not bad. And here's a game with 2 medium size comebacks. #114244

2006-11-29 13:23:49 - agoran receives 3 armies for 1 territories

He cashed a set and took LE from me, causing me to become trapped in Scotland with no possibility of getting a card.
And little more than a week later he looked like he was on his way to winning.

2006-12-08 08:37:20 - agoran receives 7 armies for holding South England
2006-12-08 08:37:20 - agoran receives 2 armies for holding Land's End

Luckily another player had to quit and decided to go with a bang, he hit the remaining 3 players equally hard before leaving, but thanks to that I got out of Scotland and after 10 rounds that looked like this for me:
2006-12-07 23:00:28 - MeDeFe receives 3 armies for 7 territories
2006-12-07 23:00:31 - MeDeFe deployed 3 armies on Tayside

I finally got out, grabbed Ireland and managed to win. That game was a real rollercoaster.

i once held ireland, wales and scotland securely. a guy then suicided on me and took me loads away from me. he was then left with no armies and so got wiped out but he had 4 or 5 cards so the third guy ended up winnin.

i also once lost a game purely because of appaling dice. me and my partner held europe and africa by turn 2. we held them for about 3 rounds then the dice gave the game away.

ive missed all but one army and lost in escalating....not fun at all

and early in here, i was on the space map, with no idea what i was doing, practically dead, and somehow came back to win without even knowing how

and my absolute worst defeat was when i had one army to hit and spy sweeper stopped me...amp had a chance to hit cards....and just the card being cashed stopped me long enough to not kill him....then i lost the game

My best was today :)

Down to 1 positon 1 unit

http://www.conquerclub.com/game.php?game=135593#gmtop

redemption was 15, I cashed in. That turn I took all of the map (bar my team mate). Great game - but needed care on taking the right players in the right order :)

This is possibly the biggest collapses/comebacks I have ever seen. http://www.conquerclub.com/game.php?game=146130#gmtop

As you can tell by the gamechat I was a little peeved at what I perceived to be bad play but it all worked out for me in the end :?

At the beginning of the 13th round I cashed a set worth 75 armies, but grateful recieved 70 armies for his territories before I could conquer any, so he attacked me full out and got rid of my new forces. This meant that at the beginning of the next turn I had 20 men and two cards, gator had 160 men and 1 card, grateful had 210 men and 0 cards (they each cashed). I wrote down those numbers just because it would be absurd if I won.

Well what do you know, neither of them attack me to take me out, though they kill a few men along the way. So I had 2 cards and 10 men when sets were at 85 and neither of them would have a set soon- but they left me alone! I wait until the end of the turn to play, get my single card and I luckily get a set with those 3. That allowed me to take out gator (though it was close) on the next turn and he had 3 cards and a set as well! From there I won the game because grateful didn't have a set with 3 cards in the last round.

Also- that was my 100th game so it finally advanced me to colonel. I was upset because I thought I would lose my 100th game for sure, yet somehow it didn't work out that way.

I've just finished a game where in round 5 I was down to 2 territories, had about 4 armies, no chance of getting a continent and it was flat rate cards so no big bonuses to come from escalating cards.

I played my cards (3xred) to give ppl less reason to take me out and sat and waited until round 18 when I took a chance to grab a continent. At that point there were only 3 players left including myself. It was a cracking battle between the 3 of us until I got a chance and went on to win in round 46.

By far one of the best games I've ever played in, against 2 brilliant CCers.

(Some time later...)
2007-05-22 08:08:04 - Guilty_Biscuit won the game
