In other news, I just learned that the voice of the dawgs has officially retired. What does this mean? It means that the Dawgs better play one hell of a game in his honor.

I've been listening to Larry Munson since I was a kid in the 70's. He's been calling UGA games since 1966. I've met him several times. He's a great guy and does a lot for the community. A friend of mine from Ethiopia is her little brother's legal guardian. Larry takes her brother fishing and has really helped her handle a tough situation. To say he'll be missed is an understatement.
A side note- He's an avid movie fan. If you see him around town he is just as likely to be talking about the latest movies as he is football. He takes large groups to the movies regularly.

I still remember hearing "Run Lindsey Run" during a replay of that fateful game. It really is sad to see him go. Though, it is just one more reason the Dawgs need to pummel Alabama into the ground.

My best friend is a USC fan, so I imagine he's going to catch a lot of shit here during the next few days. Looks like he's going to have to fall back on the Dawgs again...

It sounds like your friend may be a bit of a fair weather fan.

He's always a Georgia fan, and a USC fan when they're doing well. So I give him some credit.

Well, of course he's always a Georgia fan. Georgia is the best team ever.

Eh. I'm a Michigan fan (yeah, even still) so I spend most of my weekend calling the SEC crap. They might be the best conference in the NCAA right now, but I'm tired of hearing about it, and you bastards are cocky.

So what was Oregon State thinking when they went for two after that last touchdown, were they just trying to give USC a glimmer of hope at the end of the game? It's unreal that the Beavers have won the 3 of 4 on their home field against the Trojans recently, you'd think that alone would have USC in top form for that game.
I don't expect Oklahoma to be looking past TCU tomorrow and Penn State will handle Illinois in Happy Valley, but Michigan just might shock Wisconson. Is it an upset if Marshall rolls over West Virginia with their passing game?

I'm counting all the upsets as teams being in the top 25, preferably 15 or higher but I guess it's really a lot to do with relative standing so I guess that would count.

oVo wrote:btw... it absolutely sucks that ALABAMA / GEORGIA is on espn and isn't the game on network tv tomorrow night.
btw pt. II... the Dawgs have a quarterback from Dallas, Texas running the show and that's The Truth.
Wisconson is ranked #9 right now.
We have a QB from Texas, a Receiver from Soutch Carolina, and a running back from New Jersey. Not a bad collection of local and not so local talent if you ask me.

I can scarcely contain my emotions about this result Just a few hours until the Alabama game. All the fans walking around outside are yelling insults directed at Florida. They always get extra-drunk for the night games.

Yes, though truthfully it would have been better for the SEC as a whole if Florida had managed to win it in the final minutes. It's great that Ole Miss gave them that kind of fight because it exposed a lot of weaknesses that Florida has but really it hurts the SEC that Florida lost.

That's a rational assessment of the situation. Normally I want the SEC to stay strong but when the team wears orange it's hard to stay rational. Plus it's early in the season. We'll see how things play out. I was just giving a Florida fan I work with a hard time yesterday. I can't wait to see what he says about this loss. It's worth it just for that
