America's Priorities, what should they be?

Spare the rod and spare the child, unless of course Rod happens to be a predatory paedophile. Kids have definitely got it too easy these days. However, America's priority should be getting more guns out onto the streets and into people's hands. Public safety has to be paramount.

Every time i dont write my posts first on word like CA once told me and my computer eats them i die a little inside. Heres the short list (ill elaborate if there is interest). In some what of an order (one mans humble list).

1) Some sensible fiscal planning - tell me how we are going to pay for all of this
1a (2) Budgetary attention -we are about to have an entitlement disaster
2 Sensible taxation- we need to increase revuenues and simply cutting isnt always an option in economic downturns
3 A more effected approach to assist the shift our economy - we need to find ways to become economically competitive, either by being first with r&d or by responsibly planning for the shift of the workforce to continue to lower paying jobs
4 coherent foreign policy - we lack an idea with reason to it right now, and i think it is wasting the heroic service of our armed forces
5 Energy reform - a patchwork solution is needed, as lumping our eggs into a few baskets will simply recreate the problems we have now. Land usage will be critical in the next 50 years, we need to learn how to use our resources.
6 the rising income inequality - our nation is built on ideals including the american dream. tens of millions are failing to realize it and its getting worse.
7 a healthcare insurance system that reaches far more of the tens of millions of americans going without it.
8 Improved educational systems - do not exacerbate our economic woes by draining all of our resources to create a small class of best and brightest
9 do not screw up the supreme court in either direction thanks
10 do not forget there are some pretty awful things going on in our world still and be prepared to assist fulfilling our millenium development goal pledges.
