I've weighed up the evidence and I have to agree with gabonx. The only path to world peace is to follow the american model and arm everyone.
Welfare programmes should provide a semi-automatic rifle for every newborn child regardless of background, even black kids. "A mortar in every home" - that's our motto. Only by arming everyone to the teeth can we prevent the thousands of senseless gun deaths each year, which only happen because not enough people have guns.
And it should shape our foreign policy, too. So Iran wants nukes - we should help them. We should help every sovereign nation that wants the bomb, because otherwise we put ourselves in the hypocritical position of essentially waving a gun in an unarmed man's face- and pissing all over his inalienable and constitutional right to own a huge fuck-off arsenal of death.
Who ever said arguing on the internet never changed an opinion? Your human rights rhetoric has convinced me that 'mutual assured destruction' has an entirely inappropriate acronym, and I thank you for it.
