If not for monsters like Stalin and Hitler, the world would be even more overcrowded right now.

GrimReaper. wrote:stalin was worse than hitler hes crimes went unnoticed because of WWII and hitlers propoganda

Stallin killed more people but the motivations weren't as sinister. Hitler wanted to destroy people who didn't resemble his ideal image of man for breathing while Stallin was paranoid and wanted to maintain power at all costs.

Because of the difference in intent between the two as well as the difference in the total number of people killed, you could make a case for either of them.

The point has already been made that so many voted Mohamed rather than Hitler or Stalin 8-) If Mohamed is culpable because of the atrocities of Islam than Jesus is equally to blame for the attrocities of Christianity.

Perhaps a historical Despot? - though without them the world may harbour greater disharmony; Could they act to galvanise good in the face of evil?
Maybe it is just some pillock with a guitar like Garth Brooks - the man is about as evil as they come!

I would wipe out the Buddha...I don't really know why, I just would like to stomp on his head a few times and kick it around like a soccer ball.

And I am a Muslim, so I don't think having The Prophet's name (PBUH) in this poll is quite appropriate. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is the last and greatest of all the prophets (peace be upon them all) that Arhaman Arhahim sent to us.

That doesn't really work. If you focus on the words Jesus actually spoke, or even just on the gospels themselves, you wouldn't have the necessary justification for the aggressive wars fought in the name of Christianity.

One needs to first misinterpret the Old Testament, then use that misinterpretation to bastardize and misinterpret the New Testament, then get drunk with power and make a shit load of weapons.

THEN you have the kinds of atrocities you're referring to.

Wait, why am I even responding to this seriously?

Answering from bottom to top:

Because he is blabbering nonsence and that irks you, understandibly.

And well said, all in all. If more people understood this, less people would think Christianity is fundimentally violent.

Islam - Violent religion and all its faults squarely down to Mohamed being a nasty chap.
Christianity - Religion of love and anything bad done in its name absolutely not the fault of that nice guy Jesus

I'm reasonably sure Jesus never killed anyone or conquered/slaughtered neighboring tribes. Mo on the other hand...

I pick Hitler. But to have him removed just as he steps off the train in Paris in 1940. Only so a different leadership arises in Germany.

First Barbary War: The man who ruined everything in the war and destroyed all respect we may have earned in the middle east in this early conflict: Consul Lear.

Sold out a very successful naval and land campaign for a $60,000 peace and an exchange of prisoners. A rather high price considering that the US had assembled an incredibly large naval squadron in the Mediterranean and that William Eaton had successfully taken the capitol of Tripoli's largest province, Derne. There's also the point that the only thing that Arabs really respect is force, and since the US had payed for peace instead of putting Tripoli in its place, Tripoli, Tunis, Algiers, and Morocco all began preying on US merchantmen as soon as the squadron had left, almost as if the squadron had never been in the Mediterranean at all. If the US had used its force instead of paying for peace, we would have not only won that war, but we would have set the proper precedent for all foreign affairs in the middle east.

Who knows, maybe we wouldn't be in the current mess that we're in.

Yeah. We should've just bitch-slapped those Iranians for doing what they did. But we didn't, and what do we have now? Oh yeah, crazy Iranians that almost have nukes. So much better.
