Actually, interesting you should ask...
There was a poll done a couple years ago showing an interesting (and striking) correlation between which political party a person sides with and which kind of football (collegiate or pro) they pay the most attention to.
So based on this poll and my answer above which party would I be?

Republicans generally like College ball.
Democrats prefer Pro.
Of course, many Republicans don't watch football at all, as their sport of exploiting the working class precludes their availability for watching football.

Ironic, really. But I have observed similar anecdotal situations.

There are exceptions to prove every rule. Especially in something so soft a science as sociological study. For the record, I first heard about this study on NPR, and it was probably a couple years ago now that I heard it.
This was based on national averages. And of course, there are lots of people who like both equally (probably Libertarians).

Also, I must admit, I do enjoy college football, but only pay attention to my own Alma Mater.
Occasionally I'll watch a random college ball game, there are some crazy plays going on, but I have to admit to preferring the NFL and the camaraderie that goes with rooting for my team. (College ball fandom seems more fragmented, and it's significantly more difficult to walk into a bar and find guys watching the College team you're rooting for, as opposed to the pro team)

I suppose that's a possibility. Around my area, there are five college teams that are popular, two of them in particular. So it's easy to find area fans. As a Michigan fan, I have a bit more trouble, but it's not uncommon for me to find the maize and blue hiding about somewhere. I never see a Lions fan... (at least, not sporting the logo).

In atlanta, it's pretty much split down the middle. a little less than half the people root for Georgia Tech, around half root for Georgia and the rest are split between Florida and the eternally sucky Ohio State. Thankfully the Florida and OSU fans are a small enough group to exclude them from the count most of the time. If I had to guess, I would have to say that 50% are Georgia fans, 46% are Tech fans and the rest are split between Florida and OSU.
Here in Statesboro, it''s more like 33%GSU, 33% UGA, 33% Tech, 1% other.

Wat
Also, I get a sick sense of pleasure knowing that as long as we keep this on topic and current, all the pretentious assholes who felt it necessary to come in here and troll will now always have it on the "View your posts" screen.

No no. Let him stay. He'll exhaust himself eventually, but will add pages to our thread, to better compete with the limeys' one.

Besides, we'll just drown him out eventually talking about REAL football.
