Make it easier to see who is applying to your clan

Post by King Dain II »

Concise description:
  • Have an automated PM sent to clan leader when applying to a clan.

Specifics:
  • To find who want to get into my clan, I have to go to some tab, some other tab in that, then another tab in that, then some small link, then scroll down to the bottom of the page to see the names of the people applying. This only takes a few seconds, but it is so far removed from the day by day places of the site, that I often forget to check (I know this is my own fault, but I think this suggestion would still make things easier for a lot of people).

So, my suggestion is that an automatic PM (like the ones you get when you start out, and whenever you get a medal) is sent to the leader of the clan when someone applies in the usergroups tab.

This will improve the following aspects of the site:
  • People who apply for clans will be accepted/rejected faster
  • Clan leaders do not have to go to control panel > user groups > manage clans > manage members > scroll down a million times to get to see who is applying to their clan.

Sorry if this has been suggested before, I have trouble finding old threads about things. And I would mark this at very low priority, but if lack is bored of working on important stuff... he will have something to do.

If people are applying without PMing you, I say screw 'em.

I believe (and I'm saying this because I get them, then again, I might've changed something) that you get an email when someone tries to join a usergroup.

If a clan/usergroup is important to you you woud check the usergroup management page regulally.

Email? I never sign up for anything online with my actual email account, always a spam one.

As lack once said, "If your not comfortable giving me your real email address I'm not comfortable letting you play on my server."

Good point there, tom. When there's no need, there's no need.
