I just think it's funny. Plus it's a kick seeing Donatello's head on Burt's body, and the other various entertaining riffs on the original theme that have arisen (props to kaplowitz for "evil lack", lindax for DonAragorn, and AM for blessing me with my avvy).

Right click the image in someone's avvy, and chose copy. Then open paint or a equivalent or better program, and paste it in. Then save it as a .png file. Next go to control panel-->profile-->edit avatar and click the button that says "browse", find your pic, and select it. Press "submit" and you're done.
I think it is a roundabout way of doing it, but it works.
