HELP: Country missing from the Attack From dialog

Post by mamado »

Hello, Pleasse help,

I am trying to attack from a country but it doesn't appear in the Attack From dialog, this is happening to me in two different games now!!!

I tried to play another game and come back.

I even tried to close the browser (firefox) and open another browser (ie) but the problem is still there.

Please HELP.

Thanks mamado.

Dumb question...are you sure you own the country you are trying to attack from?

And are any other countries showing up in the box or it's completely blank?

How many troops do you have in the country you are trying to attack from? If you have only 1 then you can't attack, you need 2 or more to launch an attack

Impressive first game on AoR 1! Also really nice emphasis on the 'I'm a new guy' stuff in the chat. Sorry, but I'm not buying it - just like this thread it screams 'veteran player returning with a new account and pretending not to know too much'.

Thanks Frop for the compliment, I really appreciate it. Truly I am a new member here, I enjoy playing Risk and has been playing with my friends for a long time, but stopped few years ago after each of us got married :-), we got together couple of weeks ago and played a game that returned the passion to me :D
Couple of years ago I got introduced to GrandStrategy but it wasn't working at that time so I totally forgot about it, but after that last game I tried the account again and it was very good, I played 4 games lost the first two till I got my bearing on the interface then won the second two, I am currently playing another 4 games and hoping to win two of them, but my main problem with GrandStrategy was that the community is a bit scarce (compared to CC) so games take some time to start and end. I started looking around and found an excellent site http://www.totaldiplomacy.com/ which introduced me to CC, and I enjoy it. The variety of maps and scenarios is outstanding and the community is PERFECT, I hope to continue contributing here and enjoying my time :-)

so I am and old timer Risk player :ugeek: but a newbie in online Risk and CC

Thanks all for trying to help, I was trying to attack from Uruguay which had 8 armies, I really don't know why this happened, I lost this game  though not because of this (it helped psychologically at least ;-)).

For the second game I mentioned, your comments are very correct, this was a combination of poor eyesight, very strong map colors and my inner beleive that there is a bug

Things are working very well now thanks. This thread has proved the excellent community that CC has =D>

Glad we could help.

If this happens again in the future, I would suggest taking a screenshot of the map with the attack from box open to show you can't attack from it even though you have armies on that territory. That way you can post it in the Suggestion & Bug reports of the forum and it should get looked at quickly (and if it's a problem it will get fixed so it won't happen again :))
