It's weird how the athiests are the ones with the Holier-Than-Thou attitude. And I find it ironic how they've become the thing they stand against. Clearly it isn't all atheists, because I have several atheist friends who are very respectful of other faiths. But here I have never seen a religious person doing the above mentions things.

Bullshit. Pictures please.
Even If true...those people aren't atheists. Atheists have no religion (look up the word) and don't preach on street corners. "Convert people to their lack of faith?" What kind of bass-ackwards statement is that?!![]()
Honestly...atheists don't have the time to preach on street corners and could care less what magic you believe in! Religious people cannot fathom the fact that Atheists have none. They have to label it a religion...a "religion of non-belief", etc. It's funny really. There is no Atheists church (other than the one wacko website Jay always touts), no bibles, no doctrines, nothing. We generally don;t get together and talk about atheists stuff...that would be too much like a religion.

Wait...you have never seen a religious person on the streetcorner? Never seen a soapbox preacher? Never seen Jehovas Witnesses knocking on doors? Never seen the religious billboards about gods & hell?
You just aren't paying attention.Grooveman2007 wrote:But, whatever, someone's faith is their own business.
I agree 100% IF they keep it to themselves and don't try to force me or my kids to believe in their cult practices. But many (not all) christians don't! They want their rituals in public schools. They want their ancient texts on courthouse walls. They want to perform rites before High School Football games, etc. Go to your home/church and pray away. Pray before you eat your Big Mac. Pray in the car on the way to work. Pray during your hourly cigarette break (Jay).![]()
Just don't make me participate or pay for it. I am not superstitious and don't believe in fairy tales.

That's absolutely right! I have been reading this thread and I'll tell you what I've found.![]()
So far there has been a selected few who have insulted my intelligence, will, personality, and belief system but yet I harbor no ill will towards any of you.![]()
This leads me to my next point.![]()
This has been very entertaining to read as I honestly get a good laugh at how some of you stoop down to a level of pure insults inorder to pee me off.![]()
....but the BEST PART of it is that I don't even have to say a word and I'm still winning this debate.

I wouldn't say you've won any debate. You've only exposed how those who disagree with you act. I, for one, would enjoy an actual discussion with a Muslim, Christian, Mormon, or any person of faith without hearing the tired old 'you're an idiot for not being an atheist like me' routine. I doubt anyone could give me a good reason for believing in God and changing my mind, but at least it would be a step up from what's being thrown out here in Chatter Box.

I got tired of discussing when I realized that if it wasn't a trivial response then it was an insult that I was getting for trying to explain a certain topic.![]()
It got old very fast. I've just got no interest in being patronized or insulted just for the enjoyment of others.![]()
I've never met anyone like SOME of the atheists on CC who have such a hate for God. Personally I think the younger the atheist, the more hate there is but that is just a loose observation.![]()
I would enjoy a serious dicussion but it just doesn't seem to happen on here.![]()
As for the topics I tryed to discuss. I got burned out, so I guess I lost.![]()
I'll concede for now.
