kidpat point reset

Post by steve066 »

as most people concerned know kidpat was busted for cheating

im in a few 6 man brigadier games w/ kidport
after his point reset to 1000
his opponents (me) will get killed point wise if he wins
or win next to nothing if he loses. that doesn't seem fair or sensible
we also will have to wait for his turns to time out if he doesn't play.
that is also senseless. a better approach would be to freeze his account till all his game deadbeat
giving opponent some of there points back. then reset.

oh shut [modedit][/modedit] up and suck it up - he's obviously not at his rank anyways. Meaning that you're playing someone, like kidpat, who truly should only be ranked around 1500 anyways. So he's more apt to make stupid moves, thus if he beats you, you deserve to lose the points. You're also talking about the difference of around 20 points total - considering it's averaged out with the other players on your team.

Accually it would be about 40 points rather than 20.

Since brigader is 3000 points.
3000 is 3X more than 1000
20 x 3 = 60
The points he would have lost if kidpat was at 3000 = 20
60 - 20 = 40

And there you have it.

integral,

have you no idea how classless it is to address someone in that manner?
if you really want to make a productive remark leave personal attacks out of it.
to address the substance of your remarks you have your facts wrong
these are escalating games
there are no teams
there is no point averaging
anyone can win in escalating
and point loss would be around 70 (at 3500)
so in addition to pointless rudeness
you have gotten every fact wrong
thank you for sharing your priceless wisdom.

I thought you specified they were team games in another thread - if not, my apologies.

Yet nonetheless, the point remains that if his rank truly is inflated - you shouldn't be deserving to gain anymore points in the first place. If you *do* get beaten by him, you *do* deserve to lose more points than normal (maybe not as if he was rank 1000, maybe 1600-1800 or so). My point is, if he wins, you're losing to virtually an inferior player, as his rank only got so high from cheating. Right now, you're losing 40 more points than you would if he remained a Brigadier - either way, you should still lose more points if he remained a Brigadier (assuming he was ranked 1800, you'd lose 33 points instead of 60)... thus in the end of things, you're losing like 27 points more than you should in the end all.

27 points should be easy to suck up - the mods shouldn't have to give special privileges to you. That's how I view the matter at least. Because his rank was inflated in the first place as well, you've probably gained more points off him than you should have.

I think it would be great to have his account frozen and then resetting his points. Oh well, I guess I will just have to not got for an elim since his turn is right after mine and my dice blow lately. It isnt fair to those of us who are in a game with him and just because he cheats to inflate his points doesnt mean he doesnt know what he is doing. He knows exactly how to play in the higher level games he just took an illegal shortcut to get there.

At least I am only in 2 games with him. Worst case Ill lose about 100-110 points if he wins them both.. sucks and Id prefer otherwise, oh well.

Of course it means he doesn't know what he's doing - or not as well at least. Unless he was a brand new player, which I'll take my comment back if he is, your rank is an overtime adjustment to your skill level. It averages out, thus if he needed those points to maintain him up, his rank is overinflated.

I know we've had intentions to "freeze" those people BUSTED for a while, but it requires a large of amount of coding. I'll see if we can get back to it.

I agree and I happen to play in some brig games that Kidpat is also in.

Kidpat should bow out gracefully without a fuss.

If he is still taking turns in games and every1 in that game knows he is a cheat, I suggest that every1 in the game agree to hit kidpat for 1 or 2 rounds but that he may not be taken out by any1 until the end. That would I think soon stop him from returning to his games and be a nice little send off for him       It would also mean that the winner would only be loosing about 10 points by the end. *Waits for the White Moose to do calc - why bark if you have a dog*
