Oops - I've forgotten to unhide them again  ... it's because I had to hide most of the layers when creating the minimap, and I've missed it when making layers visible again!

Just a thought...you might consider swapping the colours of the Balkans with some other region like Western Europe for example because the colour of the Balkan region is a bit similar to the river next to them.

Should the Hellenics be more than a mere +1?

I would suggest that you move the impassables to another box separate from the continents. As it is right now, the impassables are squished in there as if you didn't have any choice but to put them there, when you've got a lot of the Atlantic sitting empty. Also, the fact that Belgium's abbreviation explanation oversteps the tip of Africa bugs me, ever so slightly. Is there any way to make the abbreviations "fit" Africa better?

sorry benn as i'm sure it's been asked somewhere in the thread, but can Kaliningrad attack Lithuania? I would assume so, but's it a little odd to have that piece of russia isolated. I know that's how it is in real life, which is why I expect it.

Update!
- Adjusted legend text on Africa so it doesn't overlap the border any more
- Tweaked main legend - given a bit more space for the impassables
- Unhidden the Alps

To be honest: I believe that the colors are horrible, sharp contrasts and not pleasing to the eye. The borders are so and so, a very open map not providing that many interesting strategy choices. I don't like it. Europe deserves better.

I have not looked at the map for a while but I quite like it now, the continetns have been shuffled round, I was always sceptical of the army squares, but they look quite good with the armies in them now. It is looking good.
Guys I am intentionally lurking. Discuss; Play mafia, it is good.

I agree with cairnswk here.

-The legend seems weird too. Half of the colors are pastel and the others are not. Could they all be made to have the same color feel.

-If you do keep these colors switch the colors from either the Baltic's or Benelux. They are two close and too similar.

-I know that people will not read the text in the bottom right (it took me a couple minutes to find it) And people will not understand the "five med. islands=+3" because it is white in the legend and there are no white terts.

- What can attack Italy? I know I asked this before but I wan to make sure. (<>= attack) France<>Italy / Slovenia<>Italy / Italy <> VC / Italy <> SM. If this is true you need to explain somewhere that VC and SM can only be attacked by Italy. I find it odd that these are the only cities on the map. Do they need to be there?

-Can Russia attack Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Belarus, Ukraine, Georgia and Azerbaijan?

I spite of what it may look like I have said, I think this is a very good looking map. Great Job.

San Marino & Vatican City - aren't just cities - they are principalities in their own right.

looks good but do you think you could put "five med. islands +5" and the legend in bottom right listing the med. islands in one place i think this would clear some confusion about bonus

Like the colors much better. I think you toned them down from the last time I saw it, and I think it works pretty well. Keep up the good work man.

Looks nice. I still like the Lowlands or Lowland countries for Belnelux. Greenland and most of Turkey are not part of Europe, and you still have the Med. islands as a bonus in white. Are they still going to be a bonus in and of themselves or also be a bonus in the areas they are in now? All in all, I will play this map a lot in its current state. Good job!

I would say, add Czechia to Central Europe, and lower the bonus for Eastern Europe to +5

First i will repeat that Grecce is a part of Balkan.
Second-Countries shapes in Balkan look very very strange.(Croatia have some autentical look, but others)
And last-you must put explanation on map for Kaliningrad.

Thanks for all the comments.

Colours
The colour-scheme appears to be a mit/miss affair - some people like it, others don't.
1. I quite like the look I've got at the moment - but readily admit that I will need to do some tweaks to find the right contrast and colour balance; notably round the Balkans/Benelux.
2. The legend colours as they stand need to be muted a fraction to match the rest on the map.
3. The legend text (ie black writing on dark blue) is difficult to see - I'll add a glow to the text, in a similar vein to that used on the territory labels.
4. On a previous update, I had a multicoloured bar representing the Med Islands - I'll try and do something similar, and see what a red/yellow/pale blue bar looks like instead of the white.

Gameplay
5. The change above (4) might help clarify the Med Islands rule (each island will be in 2 continents). I'll need to work out how to link the island list at the bottom right more clearly with the rule.
6. Micro-states: San Marino and Vatican City. Does this really need an explanation? Would renaming 'Vatican City' to just 'Vatican' help? I'm not convinced either way...
7. Russia/Kaliningrad. Russia can also attack/ be attacked by the countries neighbouring Kaliningrad (the small brown bit labelled Russia above Poland). If I need to explain this rule (and 6), how is best to do it?
8. Gameplay is fairly open - is this considered a good thing or a bad thing? If bad, how bast to restrict movement, without introducing artificial 1-way attacks, and other superficial barriers?
