Try shoving some bark into your CD drive. It's organic. It has to be good for your computer if it's organic.

Always good advice. I recommend Regedit for most problems.

See if you can buy or borrow the Special Issue, Winter 2008, of PC How-To. I'm working my way through it now. It's non-technical enough for me, and I remember when nobody had these new-fangled computer thingies.

If you can do NOTHING ELSE, as a last resort there's always reinstalling windows. This is, though, a last resort.
