i love jack daniels

Postby reminisco on Thu Apr 17, 2008 8:45 pm

how can you hate Jack?

you just can't.
have you ever seen an idealist with grey hairs on his head?
or successful men who keep in touch with unsuccessful friends?
you only think you did
i could have sworn i saw it too
but as it turns out it was just a clever ad for cigarettes.

I do! I hate JD with a passion! Straight crap! If you want a good bourbon, go with Maker's Mark or Knob Creek. But I am not a big bourbon guy, tastes to sweet to me. Scotch is awesome! Lagavulin's has quite a nice oaky finish to it. Very delicious, made to sip. But I have done shots (twenty bucks a piece!) of Lagavulin, and what goes down real smooth becomes fire in your belly! It is quite the experience, must be enjoyed with a good cigar.

If you want to go the cheap route, Jameson's Irish Whiskey is my all time favorite.

I used to buy a bottle of Jameson's, grab an eight ball of coke, and four or five packs of cigarettes. Then I would sit at the kitchen counter all night, by myself, and get drunk off of Jameson's and do a whole eight ball by myself. Then chain smoke!

I was a piece of work back then! WOW! Can't believe I am still alive!

well, you're underage.

no drinking for you until 21, bro.

and after that, you can learn all about how drinking makes you invincible to criticism, but leaves you with regrets when you sober up and realize what you've done.

Jack is the only good American whiskey, but it is nothing like a good old Scotish whiskey :D

Never been a whiskey fan myself...
Too much of a chav to enjoy anything other than a Stella (or a Kronenbourg if I'm feeling a bit flash) really.

How did you people go about acquiring your taste for whiskey anyway? I get the feeling it's something you have to work at.

I don't like whiskey either. I'll only drink it with Orange Fanta.

I can drink a little Jack from time to time, but there are many other liquors that I prefer.

Jack D is a little too gritty, Jim Beam is a little too thin and sweet; but Maker's Mark, oooh, rich, smooth, just a bit of a burn to make your voice deeper; but the best bourbon (not whiskey or whisky) is Basil Hayden, neat with a water back. It is almost making be tear up just thinking about it.

Jack Daniels is good.
So is Wild Turkey - Rare Breed.

On Irish wiskey ...
Bushmills is good but they make a great single malt called "Black Bush" and that's divine.

Maybe you can handle it better and hence drink more, making the pains in the morning worse.

Just drink/eat before you go to bed, usually sorts things out for me.

H2O & vatamin B complex can help a lot.
Dehydraytion is a major factor in a hangover.
Take them after drinking and before sleeping.
A baby asprin (blood thinner) can help as well.

Drinking tea before is said to help somewhat.
(Antioxidants and all that.)

or just drink some Vodka in the morning.

cause that's the hardest of the liquors to smell on the breath.

oh, and suck on cough drops. that masks the smell of the liquor too.

you can always tell the alcoholics in the office by who sucks on cough drops year round.

Jack Daniels is vile. Horrible. Disgusting.

Gimme some non-fat milk, chex milk and a gram of weed. I'd be a happy man.

It is rather disconcerting how quickly one's tolerance goes down. Especially after one works so hard to build it up.

Remi, in all truthfulness, abusing alcohol is bad...Cocaine, whiskey, and cigarettes is the way to go if you are looking to get shit faced and feel real good while doing it. You should also try spending Christmas in a house all alone with nothing but a 9M staring at you...now that is a real adrenaline high to boot!
