"Fall of Pangea" by Valient Thorr.
The song appeared on Guitar Hero II, it kicks serious ass. The lyrics are also quite terrific.
I'd also say anything by Yann Tiersen, that fellow is incredibly gifted.
p.s. Suggs is President of the Michael Bolton Fan Club in Britain.

"Hurricane" - Bob Dylan
whenever I hear it I think about being framed for a crime I didn't commit and being charged with two consecutive life sentences. Scary shit

For the month of March I am, goddamnit!
But admit it, this song sent shivers down your spine, didn't it?
To be fair it was pretty good...

And, for a controversial Hip-Hop choice, I'd like to nominate Pete Rock & C L Smooth - They Reminisce Over You. A Golden Era classic if ever there were one.

re: hip-hop, i was originally thinking i'd list
The Proud by Talib Kweli, but then i saw the NIN song...
anyway... of all the songs that came out in the aftermath of 9/11, i think this was the finest, and the only one that choked me up. below, a link to the video on YouTube:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aXiBRBZ1F2g
for the record, Kweli is hands down my favorite solo artist.

I do love Clannad. The Chieftains are particularly good as well.

Originaly by Tears for Fears. Gary Jules remade it, along with many others. I agree, it is one of those songs that does send shivers down your spine.

In a Big Country by Big Country, nothing else sounds like it.
The Passenger by Iggy Pop, makes you feel like you're part of something
and totally alone all at the same time.
