Just this morning my partner (JCsolidrock) had an 18v2 and lost 12 to 2. With the 5 units left after advancing he hit a 5v14. He lost 2 to 13 and then finshed the single army off with another attack 3v1. This was an incredible case of the worst dice for us and then the best dice for us in the same turn. In the end, we accomplished our objective which was to take out the 14. WOW what a turn.

in germany, i successfully threw rocks at a kid from the roof of a 5 story school building in 4th grade, because he cheated in dodge ball at recess and knocked me out of the game... that was pretty cool... if you cheat during the universal ultra all world dodge ball championships, created karma is going to get you...-0

16v16 isn't really a risk, you have a 55% chance of winning that
I know the main purpose of your post was about winning with 13 left though... that is quite good, there is a less than 1% chance of that happening

I may not have enough experience to give a real crazy example, but.
I was in a desperate screw it situation on doodle. I had 13 and beat 21 armies spread out through 4 territories, took africa and defended it with 3 left and held it till next turn, then won one turn later. This helped me alot cause I was ready to quit after loosing over 250 points in like 3 days mostly due to dice. I was loosing an average of 3 armies killing ones, maddening. So this helped and my dice have been average since. I'm trying to notice the good rolls as much as the bad, perspective is everything.

you lost me right there...-0
A "screw it" situation is where you are cornered and outnumbered and just say screw it, either this works or not, cause your toast if you don't try something. Doodle is for doodle earth
This didn't happen on the site. It was a real-life game of Risk over winter break two months ago. I had was just completely fucked over in a truce and the guy was stampeding from S. America, up through N. America (me) to take some guy out in Asia. I was pretty pissed off because, well, it was a truce, and we had pretty specific terms on it. So he attacked all my singles on his way to Asia. That's Western US, Alberta, and Alaska (my defense was in Kamchatka).
Alberta alone, one troops on one country, killed 15 men. Western US and Alaska both stopped another combined total of about 15.
I've never been more proud of my army than I did at that moment.
