Thanks Coleman. One of my games has finished with 2 more left. Plus 1 from Group 5 (that I haven't checked on). My current inclination is to kick original Doogie / keith149 from this tournament because the partner getting all the armies and territories has really tipped at least 1 of the 2 remaining games. Besides, there will be 3 more of these prelims tournaments plus an open final.
original doogie / keith149 Deadbeat Player (I don't like messing with deadbeats)
Supposesublys / Peteolive Only 3 points in Round 1
GUSSELL / Freeman74 Lost a 4-way tiebreaker with 5 points b/c the team (defined as at least one person still playing) lasted for a total of only 17 rounds.
Round 2 PMs will go out either tonight or tomorrow. The spreadsheet is updated, but here are some images for the End of Round 1 and Beginning of Round 2.
For the second leg of the race, competitors will explore the Puget Sound Area. Puget Sound is an estuary-where salt water from the ocean mixes with fresh water that falls as precipitation or drains from the surrounding land. Made up of a series of underwater valleys and ridges, Puget Sound is deep with an average depth of 450 feet. Ocean waters reach inland some 50 miles from the Pacific Coast to provide all-weather ports for ocean-going ships at Seattle, Tacoma and Olympia. The waterway is a complex and intricate system of channels, inlets, and islands. The urban region designated the Puget Sound Region is centered on Seattle, Washington, and consists of nine counties, two urban center cities and four satellite cities making up what has been dubbed the "Pugetropolis". A unique state-run ferry system, the Washington State Ferries, connects the larger islands to the Washington mainland, as well as both sides of the sound, allowing cars and people to move about the greater Puget Sound region.
On Conquer Club, Puget Sound is designed as a classic, straightforward map. This will be my first attempt at this map, but it looks fairly simple. I notice the two large bonuses in the center with small and moderate bonuses in the corners. I would hope for a strong corner drop and work out from one of them.
OK so here's the official question since I haven't seen the answer elsewhere. My partner (Coleman) missed a few turns and ended up deadbeating out on 1 of the 3 maps. Is that going to eliminate us overall (he was able to return in time to play the other maps). You had indicated elsewhere that deadbeaters would be eliminated but I wanted a ruling on this particular instance if possible. (not sure if we'll have the points either)
When I tried to open the excel file (on the first page of this topic) with Excel 2007, i got the following error:
Excel cannot open the file 'Amazing Race USA Spreadsheets.xlsx' because the file format or file extensions is not valid. Verify that the file has not been corrupted and that the file extension matches the format of the file.
Perhaps b/c I haven't updated the sheet for a while. Round 2 is almost over, so I'll be posting updates soon after it does (hopefully Tuesday night at the latest).
I will say that it looks like you have advanced, so you don't have to worry about that.
My problem in going to Round 3 is that some of the necessary logs have gone missing due to the database errors.
Gozar and Forza AZ are holding their own by themselves as Deech and .kush are both still in. Unfortunately, this game determines who advances, so we have to wait for it to finish.
Can you post the standings in this topic. I can't read your Excel file, and I think posting the standings in the topic itself is easier to see how the situation is.
And can you post here or in the gamechat of our last game, what I have to do to get into the next round.
Just me and Gozar left now in that game, so will be over rather soon. Looks like Gozar will win. Hope that is enough for lokisgal and me to get into the next round. We didn't do very well this round after our 3 wins in round 1.
