It sounds like it means love of the vagina.. but its really a type of salmonella that they used to think you got from beavers.

No it makes it so you spend all day on the crapper. It's called beaver fever 'cause you get it from infected water wher beavers live, there is no accual conection between the two though.

I did indeed know that... but they USED to think that it came from the beavers.

It is usually refering to when you get it from drinking out of a creak, stream or not as often because they flow too fast a river, and there is a dead animal up stream from you generally a beaver in Canada.
