blitz all are on the scoreboard so all have been active within the last month - there may be a certain amount of inactives between 1100 and 900 (noobs who joined and left again) but none of these players would have dropped as low as cook so the vast majority of cooks are active players who keep losing consistently.

before looking at the figures i already suspected this was the case as its so rare seeing sgts and higher in public games - i used to think this was because they stuck to private games - however its not quite clear that there really are much few of them which gos a long way in explaining this absence.

Without inflation, there is almost no chance of anyone becoming field marshal. But, maybe a way to deal with inflation if it becomes an issue is that every once and awhile all players would lose 10% of there rank. Or just remember that certain ranks don't quite mean what they used to.

agreed, I said this like 9 months ago, but now with the inflation boom it will be possible sometime in mid to late 2008 perhaps.

Actually, he might be one of the best players (or in the top 0.5%) because he plays in a lot of tournaments and he plays with a lot of different settings (at least as much as I know).
