a map with moving territories..

Post by mrkaris »

i dont know if this is even possible but... what about a map that has moving territories; such has a bridge that goes up (no access) during even rounds and down (passable access) during odd rounds. or even a ship that players can place armies on passing from one side of the river to the other side during even or odd rounds. i do believe that a predictable movement would be better than just random shifting. thoughts?
Syndrome: are u handycapped?
Syndrome: i really hope so
mrkaris: well the fact that u cannot spell it correctly implies something.

this would be fun - especially if it was like a mini-golf course, and you had to get the ball through the hole when the bridge is down or when the arm of the windmill is out of the way.

Sadly, the site doesn't currently support this. You could always post this as a suggestion in the xml modifications thread.

It would get shot down in the XML Variations thread because a moving territory would mean rewriting the structure of the XML altogether.

Technically this has been suggested before - i.e. Dynamic XML - and that is wanted - and on the todo - but it will probably be another couple of iterations away!!

This is more of a discussion topic then a map topic so off it goes.

I actually don't like the idea of moving territories, unless they were used in extreme moderation. Like maybe a rotating platform or something.
Warning: You may be reading a really old topic.

lol i wanted something like this from the moment i joined. that's why full of confidence i suggested a rubik's cube where a guy had to move terits around and form his color side. i was told it's impossible. back then i had no idea what xml is
