[quote="Selin"]I play a lot of no card games that last months usually. It would be unfair to blame someone for dropping below 2500 during that period.

This is an example where a fall in rank is understandable. Right now I play in one captain game that has lasted for 7 months ...where I have seen ranks change a bit..in fact upwards not downwards.
I myself have not fallen below captain at any time during this game and in fact was promoted to major and stayed a major for practically most of this captain game. Actually I don't remember if anyone has fallen below captain during this long game and if it happened, I am a reasonable person and not concerned about it such that it passed out of my memory.
oops khaz, i did not see your forewarning...so let this be the last post since it was my post that started the whole thing.

if you give me 2 partners and teach me how to play i'd join.
i have only 15 triples game under my belt. but that was back when i was a private. so not much skill and experience.

oh DiM I for sure think any 2 you team with would be supportive and help you to you get used to it, I know I would, i have a team for this with andrewb and osujacket if it ever does start
but we can join a few in pubic for practice soon, let me chop some of my games down, also ask partners to put ideas in the game chat too, and that helps, read them , then look at the map, see if it makes sense, teams is a lot about support and communication.
Your idea for the triples sounds great except that if you required all members to be above 1800 or 2000 for that matter, I don't know how many teams you can get. I did a quick check in the public games and found that there are only a handful and they tended to be the same players.
If I combine with a highly ranked player, I doubt I can expect him to take instructions from me and I do understand why this is so, being a strong minded player myself. As you said, team games are about communication and support and I look for team members like that.
If you allow an average score per player, then maybe there will be more teams. My regular leolou2 is not a 1800 but our average is more than 2000 per player if combined with mine.

the thing is like this. i haven't played triples in a long long time. and when i did it i was a private and the opponents were also privates. i did win that triples tourney. so i do have some skills but the skills to beat a team of privates are nothing compared to what i need to beat 3 majors. i'm a fast learner and i'm willing to follow orders as long as the other guy explains the reasons behind those orders so i can learn.
recently i've been teaming up with masli and gimil for doubles games. and right now we rarely have to give one another indications where to deploy or fortify and stuff like that but we haven't played so many games and we tried just one map. we're a long way from becoming a tough team.
i asked masli to get me in some triples cause i've seen him playing a lot with high ranks and i'm waiting for his response.
so at the moment i don't have anybody to pick for such a high ranked team except masli.
