2015-10-09 04:41:24 - ganguscalm: ah crap ! ... not the game to miss a turn in .
2015-10-09 04:44:29 - ganguscalm: I just planted my part of my winter crop ... carrots , red onions and red German garlic :o)
2015-10-09 04:45:01 - ganguscalm: I can grow all year long in AZ.
2015-10-09 10:15:38 - MGSteve: And it only cost me 9 to take those 2
2015-10-09 10:17:47 - MGSteve: I've let a carrot top here and there take care of planting my carrots. I plant tops from carrots, beets and other root veggies so that they root and grow again.
2015-10-09 10:19:53 - MGSteve: You don't get a new radish, turnip or whatever veggie it was but it will grow a nice top that will make seed. One of the tops I planted in a bathtub where I grow bamboo ended growing well over my head and I'm only 1/2" under 6'3".
2015-10-09 10:21:20 - MGSteve: And just the seeds that have been knock off of it by me and the wind and sprinkler has a carpet of baby carrots growing way around it.
2015-10-09 10:22:17 - MGSteve: You can also regrow celery, lettuce and lots of other stuff by planting the roots of the ones you buy in the store.
2015-10-09 10:23:29 - MGSteve: And I think that last auto attack just erased any advantage I had.
2015-10-10 00:11:08 - ganguscalm: I did not know that about carrots , I think I will do that with my summer carrot crop as see what happens , thanks
2015-10-10 00:13:17 - ganguscalm: I let some of my collard green go to seed 2 falls past and now I have a life time supply of collard seed :o)
2015-10-10 04:02:03 - MGSteve: Like me with burdock. I let some go to seed, those big old burrs, and now I have sacks o seed. So if you need seeds for burdock, chard, lovage, chives, carrots, tomatoes Indian corn and I don't know what all, just lemme know.
2015-10-10 04:04:07 - MGSteve: That's one of the great advantages to no till gardening. If something bolts, just let it go. Then you can harvest seed or just let it replant itself. I have things popping up all over.
2015-10-10 05:57:45 - ganguscalm: that would be so cool ! ... Im still learning how to grow in the desert . its not like back home ... just through seed at the ground and they grow
2015-10-10 06:01:44 - ganguscalm: I have to battle the wild life at all times
2015-10-10 06:04:07 - ganguscalm: ----------------------------
2015-10-10 06:04:55 - ganguscalm: welcome to my ladder spot steve ;o)
2015-10-10 09:10:34 - MGSteve: Thanks gang. And I certainly know about wildlife! Cats, dogs, skunks, rats, squirrels, voles.... not to mention the bugs and the birds, occasional drunk... ha ha
2015-10-10 09:12:47 - MGSteve: That's another reason I'm so interested in aquaponics. Build troughs at just the right height to garden comfortably from. No stoopin, squattin, bendin or sittin. Just amble along picking this and that.
