Since it's a large escalating game, bonuses are pretty useless, and going for one will likely get you killed. Spread your deployments out, and try to stay strong in your 3 areas. Don't attack unless there is a single army next to you. Then only attack that single, so you can get a card. Do your best to preserve your armies, while gathering cards. You might also want to join the Society of Cooks. They'll teach you how to play a similar style of game.

Game 4979375 Remember to take the singles if you can, on your last go you could have taken blue's 1. And deploy a few more in europe, try to become strong in both points so your harder to eliminate.

Yup... you've had 4 turns and only hold a single card. Since it's escalating spoils this will eventually be the factor that determines who wins. No sets have been cashed yet... so it isn't a huge deal, but it will be. So try to pay attention to where your cards will come from in future rounds because eventually you will really need them big time.

Listen to these guys, they know what they're talking about.

I was in a similar situation to yourself in a recent speed FS game 3p on Classic. Both the opposition held a 2 bonus continent each, I kept forces in the south part of Africa out of the way, the north part of NA out of the way, and northern Europe out of the way, and "encouraged" them to attack each other by trimming defensive lines and leaving corridors of attack, one guy north Asia -> Australia and the other guy from Middle East -> SA. I ended up winning the game, albeit after the Australia guy deadbeated, but at that stage it was irrelevant - I'd kept my armies out of the way...

Game 5043940

PS In that game I think I missed out on 4 cards all up

PS - Having a single army territory adjacent to one that is forted is not a bad thing,
as it gives you a spot to "trade off" with another player and collect spoils.
