Sriracha

This thread is for people to talk about the best stuff on earth... Huy Fong Food's Sriracha Hot Sauce.

Made from dried chilis, it both adds massive quantities of heat, yet seems to complement everything you can put it on - eggs, pizza, sausages, sandwiches, soup... if men eat it, Sriracha helps it.
I carry it in my manpurse. However, not all Sriracha afficionados are limpwristed webgeeks.

This man, obviously, is both a badass and a Sriracha freak. I have to imagine that with this tat, anybody his gaze falls on for more than 20 seconds is impregnated, immaculately.
I need more Sriracha, now. On anything,

You lost me at manpurse but,....oh yeah. It's one thing I make sure I never run out of.
Awesome flavor for a sauce so damn hot.

Is this a prison/jail thing? That would explain the tattoo.... but not the man purse... or would it?
I only ever bothered with hotsauce when I was locked up. A big bottle is worth like 6 honeybuns.

Ya, we call it cock sauce though... It's 'cause there's a cock on the bottle, not because you put it on cocks. Although...

Lee Kum Kee is a good brand too...
http://canada.lkk.com/commonCA/Consumer ... ialCode=72I agree, this is a great condiment...
It is perfect to spice up almost any stir fry...just about any sweet Asian sauce benefits from it (if you are looking for some heat and added flavour)...great in a lot of soups...it is hot, but there is a tonne of great flavour to go with the heat...

yeah, Sriracha is a kind of hot sauce (although the kind made by Huy Fong out in Cali is pretty much the only kind they got stateside) there are plenty of great hot sauces (one of my other favorites is Inner Beauty hot sauce. they work mangoes in there, somehow) but Sriracha is like the all-purpose hot sauce for me. Oh, and the manpurse thing was a bit of a joke. It's a bag.

If you go to a Thai or Vietnamese restaurant in Ontario, chances are they will have the Huy Fong brand on the table. It is the most popular around here, just like in te States...I have 2 Huy Fong bottles in my pantry right now...one will be moved to the fridge as soon as I finish my bottle from Lee Kum Kee.
It is one of the essential condiments in my fridge.
Hey, if you want to try some excellent condiments (chutneys, jams, jellies, sauces, etc.) try
http://www.hawberryfarms.com/index.html They will ship all over North America and any products that I've tried from them are very good...and I've tried quite a number.
This one is a favourite:

Tonnes of flavour...

I had some Cock Sauce on my dinner tonight!
Delicious stuff.
Buy direct and save:
http://www.huyfong.com/frames/index.htmThey also make these...that also rock:
Sambal Oelek is made of chilies with no other additives
Chili Garlic is a tempting blend of coarsely ground chilies and garlic.

I don't even like hot sauce, so I wasn't going to order. But you're a cook, so you'd know better than me. lol?

Sriracha tastes way different than most hot sauces....you are probably more familiar with Louisiana style hot sauces...this is quite different.
In my fridge I usually have many different hot sauces/condiments....right now I have a bottle of Sriracha, a bottle of Frank's Red Hot, a jar of crushed green chilies (from India), a Carribean hot sauce with Scotch Bonnet peppers, a container of jalapeño peppers, a container of chipotle peppers, a jar of good salsa, a jar of hot mixed pickle (Indian), ...
You know, here's a picture....some of the stuff I mentioned are on the shelves of the fridge, but a lot is in the door....

I see some other stuff...Pappy's Moonshine BBQ sauce, Portuguese hot pimento paste, jalapeño pepper jelly, Lee Kum Kee Chili Garlic Sauce (more of a paste), hot mango chutney, and, for roast beef, horseradish sauce. A lot of the bottles are hidden in this picture and I have a fair number of condiments on the shelves....not all hot, but a good portion of them are on the spicy side.
There is no such thing as a "one sauce fits all" hot sauce.
