GM (Government Motors)

This is unconstitutional, that the president can order the government to take over a private business. Some people will argue that its not taking over the business but just guiding it through troubled times... When the president fires the head of the company and replaces him with someone with no expirience in the field I consider it government take over even if its supposed to be temporary.
Then further-more since we are trying to fix the econemy by "helping" GM, President Obama has decided that of GM's 20 cars that are making a profit right now we should have them stop selling 11 because they are SUV's and Trucks therefore unhealthy for our dream of a "green earth". Tell me how this fixes the current financial crisis?
Also Chrysler has been order to make a deal with ,excuse me if Im wrong, Fiat because it has been declared that Chrysler wont servive on its own. What kind of barganing chip is that? Fiat could ask for anything and get it right now, but if I was them I wouldnt because then they got the U.S. gov involved in half of their business.
So whats everyones opinion on this?

Obama is hell bent on destroying this country. Our only "productive" industry will be gone, we will be left with nothing. The land will have been fully raped before he has left office. Our dollar will be gone, and our civil liberties will be gone too. I think that we will be a desolate nation, a dust bowl of prosperity past.
There will soon be a terrorist attack on this country, which will usher in martial law. Obama should be impeached, and tried for treason.

Fiat is an Italian business. I thought the politicians were supposed to STOP outsourcing, not demand it.

The government should have no business in this matter. Obama just wants controll of every aspect of our lives as americans. As stated in the march edition of the Limbaugh Letter, "He doesn't just believe in bigger government; he believes in monstrous govenrment."
By the way, does anyone listen to Rush Limbaugh?

I really would have liked to see Obama accept Rush's debate challenge. Then the country would know Obama's true intentions about being president.
http://tyrannosaurx.deviantart.com/art/Bowser-08-86019011Bowser would have made a better president than obama. He probably would have done the same things as Obama, but he would have been honest about it. (this picture was not made by me.)

Nah man, Bowser would've tried to take over the world and kidnap some princess and then be averted by some italian plumber.
At this point, I wonder why Bowser even tries.

Prolly doesn't have anything better to do. I mean, what would you do with an army of mushrooms, some hungry plants, and an angry sun that..... wait,.... are you sure Mario isn't a doper?

Did you ever consider that maybe the other option is letting the economy go under? It's obvious they can't manage on their own, so the government steps in. I think it's sickening that these private industries have been allowed to continue for so long. People should just accept that the government needs to have a bigger role. Furthermore, it's incredibly unpatriotic of you do be questioning the president's actions when he needs cooperation the most, I feel dissent such as this is what's keeping us in a crisis, and it shouldn't be tolerated or allowed.

How is the government taking over a company unconstitutional (especially one that it essentially has bought)?

Many of the biggest companies from 100-150 years ago are no longer here today, so what makes these companies more special? If companies aren't allowed to go bankrupt and new ones take their place, then the economy cannot expand.

Some its unpatriotic for me to question the President when it was not unpatriotic for all you liberals to question President Bush?
The constitution has an article on Government not interfering with Private business.
It would have been better if the gov didnt try and help our econ because it obviously not gona work in the long run. Just look at FDR, the New Deal Agencies worked for a little while but eventually the money ran out and the only thing that saved us from going deeper into depression is WW2. What shouldnt be tolerated or allowed is a government hand in controlling private business.
Fun fact of the month is Barak Obama has spent more money in these last months than the nation had spent up until his presidency.

Please tell me which article this is, and quote it. I'm fairly certain this is not true.

What do you think WW2 was? That's right - the greatest deficit spending in American history. Ie, GOVERNMENT STIMULUS.

Maybe you don't mean what I think you mean, but this isn't true either. Our national debt right now is around 10 trillion dollars, and Obama has spent or is planning to spend, what 3 trillion in total right now? How is that more money than we've ever spent?

Easy the constitution prohibits the government from taking over Private Business... (If its not one of the articles its one of the early laws. Ill look it up tomorrow and edit this post if I'm wrong)

Sorry I miss-spoke on that little fun fact part. I mean to say he is the President who has spent the most money so far in this short amount of time compared to all of our other presidents.
He is embracing the economic theory of Keyneism which FDR also embraced but his goals like Obama's were to short termed.

Point is that his New Deal wasn't the thing that bolstered our economy out of the Great Depression, It was the war which FDR tried to stay out of. (Im not saying trying to stay out of of the war was bad)
Sorry for the Triple Post.
