Maybe an Indo Australian plate... you could combine your efforts with Gavin's to create a really big map.

Okay, here's the whole map. First draft, so please make as many suggestions as you like as to borders, territory names, etc. I have no idea about bonuses at this stage, I guess there's no point until the territories are final.

Suggestions on the text would be good!

Tidy work, one thing i would think it would benefit from is a link (classic map style) from say, Rockhampton to the Pilbra. this would make WA somewhat more accessable and harder to defend (asia like).

I know its a little unrealistic, but yeah.

Yes, good thinking. I haven't done any external links, not even Melbourne to Tasmania, but I'm hoping people will offer more ideas.

A couple things I'm not sure on are Tasmania/Hobart and ACT/Canberra. Which would people prefere these things called? The ACT I'm not happy with at all, but it's not practical to have such a tiny territory. It would be impossible to label and then number.

How about moving Kalgoorlie to the unnamed territory and naming that one the Nullabor Plain?

I would get rid of the border between Birdsville and Lake Eyre.

Lake Eyre looks like it would be a bastard to defend.

I can't do that, it's a state border. I could make Birdsville a different shape, so it's the only Queensland territory bordering it.

What about an Uluru territory at the bottom of the state?

Uve got choke points. If someone controls either Alice Springs and Coober Pedy, or Lake Eyre and Mt Isa, they can restrict movement from one side to the other quite easily. Do something about the choke points. Nice map though.

Photoshop.

I'm going to wait overnight to see if there's any more responses before making any changes. I've been looking at the map a bit harder though, and there's a few territory border issues I want to clear up.

Can people indicate which maps they like playing on, so I can do my best to replicate some ideas from those. Things like colours are good too, do people prefer the pastel colours or more vibrant ones?

maybe you could name it the back of bourke or some othere australian slang for a place in the middle of know where.

Another idea might be to connect melbourne, brisbane, darwin and perth with ports.

I took into account the things everyone said and have made the following changes:

* Added links for crossing water
* Queensland has 1 less territory and I fixed the border with S.A.
* N.T. has an additional territory
* W.A. territories have been modified a little
* Fixed territory borders in S.A. so more connect to each other
* Slightly modified N.S.W. territory borders
* Updated graphics

great improvment.

one suggestion is instead of the link from cairns to Kimberly, what about from townsville or rockhampton to pilbra?
