Comments:jbrettlip is using a well known image that is completely offensive to practicing Muslims, of which I am one. I have PMed jbrettlip about removing his avatar, and his response was that he would. Of course, this was a lie, and he continues with his inflammatory image despite my warning him of my offense to the image. If you are not familiar with the image, then here is a link where there are offensive images to Muslims, of which I am only posting to educate the more ignorant among you. Is it not quite easy for you to ignore it? Or do you have a button for selective ignorance. It's quite simple, if you don't like the image then don't look at it. CC is a pretty big site. You could even foe him and move on with your day. Unless you prefer to sit there and look at the image, and then say it offends people. I also notice you carefully avoid the stating that it is YOU that are offended, and not a general population. If there is anyone else offended, i have yet to see them. As well, many people have many different beliefs, and the general rule is acceptance and forgiveness....i believe this is a concept taught by all religions, is it not.

Not sure how that would be offensive, since Jesus (if he existed) was almost certainly more black than white.

That said, I don't see why this needs to be such a big issue. You could just ignore the picture, or maybe even adblock it, so you wouldn't have to see it (don't know if that would work). I don't see why religion should be so cushioned.

i can not even express how wrong you are on this. it is so obvious you are clueless as to what is going on with brett's avatar. brett has had that avatar since the "offensive avatar" thread (viewtopic.php?f=6&t=59020&hilit=offensive+avatar) way back last august. that all started as my silent protest agaionst a mod ruling that a user using a "black face" avatar was not offensive. the silent protest was going joyously unnoticed (i was flying the image of the Selgado, Piss Christ, and very few realized it), until brett dropped that thread. why would i retaliate against my best friend of more than 20 years over an avatar that i find absolutely hilarious on many levels?! brett has had the avatar for MONTHS, it isn't a recent occurence. why would i retaliate against a founding member of the same clan i am? you sure do make a lot of assumptions about things you know absolutely nothing about... the black jesus has spoken...-0
