I love strategy games, and signed up yesterday. I am currently in 4 games, and intend to learn by trial and error. (It is a little difficult because I am playing with the Fog of War, and can't see many moves, but that's another story....)
My question: Is there one article or thread that you would read first to get an overview of the game strategy? I read the instructions, but that gives only a basic overview.
Thank you.

You could also contact [player]wacicha[/player], who runs a "Strategy School". Although designed primarily for cooks you should be able to get in somewhere...
Have fun in your games

I joined as a sergeant and disagree that it is just primarily for cooks. If one is open to learning the game its a great place to start. Yes if your more of a seasoned vet it may be a rehash but for me I was looking for a place to hang my hat, meet new folks other then the silence of a game and play in a competitive but fun atmosphere.
It would be a great place to start.
hope to see you there.

You shall change the name
Seriously, it is the best place to learn. I was there and learned much, but I forgot to write something in forum, then they kicked me out.
I don't know wachica personly and never have a communication with him, but I learned 2 different games (indirectly) from him. He is the guy I'm looking for (see my signature), just want to say....
THANK YOU

The focus of the School is how to play terminator, which is just as applicable to standard escalating. In the process one learns the best times to attack, when not to and a variety of other small details many players take for granted. The small details that make the difference between becoming an officer and dancing the cook cadet shuffle.
