Help with Creating a Standard Single Player World Cup

How about creating a single-player World-Cup tournament?
The winner would be World Champion!
Just an idea that I would need help with - a lot of help!
Single player, standard format. As entry is for all players (not just premium) , it would be the 24-hour round format.
When you read below you'll realise that the whole competition would take some time, probably like the World Cup of Football (or that other word horrible some people call it). Perhaps an annual event that could build-up each year in numbers, if it gets off the ground.
It begins with Continent stages - players play several games against opponents within their continent (eg. North America, Europe), on that continent's map.
Then is the 'World Cup Finals' stage - with the best performing players from each continent moving on to play a series of games on International Maps (e.g. World 2.1). After a couple of games, players move on to best of three knock-out rounds, up to a final.
If it proves popular, games could all be 4-player+?
No doubt there will be lots of entries from North American players, plenty from Europe and limited numbers from elsewhere? In that case, the number of players qualifying from each continent could be proportionate to entries.
This might look something like this:
North America
40 North American players each play a number of 4-player games on a North American map. Players are divided into groups of ten and games arranged so they play the other 9 players in their group once or twice. In each game, players score 3 for a win, two for a second and 1 for third (0 for first eliminated). The top four players from each group (on points) - therefore the best 16 performing players - qualify for the Finals stage. Alternatively, North American administrators may prefer to regionalise further and/or have 'conferences' in the style of the NFL/AFC etc.
Europe
27 European players, in 3 groups of 9, each play a number of 4-player games on a Europe map. Players are divided into groups of nine and games arranged so they play the other 8 players in their group once or twice. In each game, players score 3 for a win, two for a second and 1 for third (0 for first eliminated). The top three players from each group (on points) - therefore the best 9 performing players - qualify for the Finals stage.
Asia & Oceania
18 Asian players each play a number of 4-player games in three groups of 6, on Asia and Australia maps. In each game, players score 3 for a win, two for a second and 1 for third (0 for first eliminated). The top two from each group go through to another group of 6. The top four players then qualify for the Finals stage.
South & Central America & Africa
12 South & Central American and African players, in two groups of 5, each play a number of 4-player games on Carribean, Central America and Africa maps. Games are arranged so they play the other 7 players in their group once or twice. In each game, players score 3 for a win, two for a second and 1 for third (0 for first eliminated). The top three from each group go through to another group of 6. The top three players then qualify for the Finals stage.
Finals Stage
32 players would have qualified. They could be mixed up into 4 groups of 8, again 4-player games, this time on a World Map. Top four (on points) from each group could move on to the next stage. This would be best-of-three 4-player games against players from other groups. The best two players from each best-of-three match could move on to best-of-five semi-finals, again best two players moving on to best-of-seven final match.
Finer Details
1. Players from other parts of the World not specified (e.g. Carribean, Mexico) would play in the most appropraite continent group needing players (e.g. South America).
2. Game conditions (e.g. sequential/freestyle no spoils/normal spoils/escalating fog of war) could be randomly determined to attract more players and make the tournament a competition for versatile players.
3. The continental group stages would not be a competition in their own right - they could be organised seperately (e.g. Freestyle King of Europe / North American Leader). In the World Championship, continents would have a number of qualifying players but no outright continental. Just one winner, the Worl Champion.
The winner would be World Champion!
