Food map

Post by c3po »

Here's my idea for my first map.

I'd like to work with the food pyramids. I've done a very rough first draft of how the map will look.

Image

Here's the idea. We've got on the left side, various fruits. The bottom row is Oranges, and we'll have Orange 1, Orange 2 etc. THe next level is Green Apples, THe third level is Lemons, the fourth level is cherries, the fifth level is grapes and the top level is blackberry. On the right side of the pyramids are vegetables. The first row is carrots, then brocolli, then Yellow banana peppers, then radishes, then eggplants and finally black bean. Between the two bottom levels, where the pyramids intersect are three loves of bread.

Gameplay
Essentially each fruit, vegetable, or bread can attack an adjoining one. So for instance, Orange 1 can attack either Orange 2 or Green Apple 1. Orange 2 on the other hand can attack Orange 1, Orange 3, Green Apple 1 and Green apple 2. Fruits and vegetables do not attack each other. Fruits can attack either other fruits (adjacent) or bread while vegetables attack other vegetables or bread.

Continents
Each Color is a bonus so holding all the oranges AND carrots would be a bonus, Holding the blackberry and the black bean would also be a bonus. Similarly there would be a bread bonus.

Number of territories: 45
Number of continents 7

c3po is my nephew so I'd be willing to help out on this in any way although my own skills in this area are somewhat lacking.

food pyramid map could be interesting, but what food pyramid is this based on? Instead of having a level with four bananas, what if you had a "Fruit" level with four different types of fruits, so banana attacks apple, apple attacks strawberry, etc. As it is, you'll have to label them banana 1, banana 2, etc. which doesn't play as well.

And you'll have to work out how attacks occur between levels.

the food pyramid is not longer structured like that in the united states, they are now slices coming from the tip of the pyramid down to the base, with varying degrees of width to show how much should be consumed

at least i think thats how it is now....

My Uncle [Barterer2002] suggested that I decided not to.

I thought it would be easier doing it this way.

good potential. maybe use meat and veg/fruit. So chicken and beef and lamb and turkey and pork and so on. Then the fruit and veg as potatos/carrots/strawberry's/apples that way you have more room for variation.

Also how old are you?

I don't understand your notion of food's pyramid.
But first, this could be interesting if only there were a principle or a rule behind this map. And I thought you spoke of food, not only vegetables and fruits. So, you meant greeneries?

There was no need to bump such an old thread unless you were adding something worthwhile to the thread, which you didn't.
