Can you find the number?

The image in the link contains some information. The information leads to a 4-digit number. Can YOU find it?

The image does not directly contain the number, but rather a hint to finding the number.
The number is not 1337. That would be too easy.

I dont know how to find it either.
One of my friends has a picture like that framed in his room and he claims that there is a treasure chest, a shark and a pirate in it, he even pointed to where they were, but I just could not see them.

theres a hiny to unlock the number in there but i cant be botherd to work it out. That was the whole point hawk, to work it out

I tried looking at it like it was an alternate-image picture, the ones where you have to look at it in a certain way and a picture appears in 3D, but that didn't work, so I'm stumped.

Here's another one. Hint: stare at the center of picture, relax eyes, let picture go out of fucus (look through the picture)..... 3D image should form.
