My favorite map is Ptolemy's world map form his Goegraphia... brilliant mathematician and geographer, the father of modern cartography.

Oh, wait, you mean favorite CC map?

American Civil War, without question, is one of the finest, most enjoyable, strategic, visually appealing, and all-around most excellent maps on CC!

Why? - Because I designed it!

For raw gameplay and options I really dig British Isles.

I also enjoy the weird "Giant Gaping Vagina" map that was on here for a few weeks before it was yanked. It doubled as New Jersey, which was awesome.

it depends so much on what game style and who i am playing .. World 2.1 is fantastic for team games ..so is North America. (but singles esc is mostly a nightmare)

Civil war is a lovely and different team map too.

New World is a really excellent map! with some nice alternative gameplay to keep your strategy for stagnating... it can lead to Stalemate in Singles Esc though from what i have found.

But for all around playability in singles and Doubles and tipples and Quads.. Classic is a timeless work of genius. .. I would like to see a graphic Revamp on it though ;)

For looks: Canada, Dust Bowl, France, Indochina, Ireland, Italy, Malta, Middle East, Puget Sound, Scotland, South America

For the challenge: British Isles, Canada, Discworld, Dust Bowl, Italy, Malta, Middle East, Puget Sound, San Francisco, Scotland, South America

Am I allowed to pick more than one...? :D

(Make sure to let people choose up to 5 options or something and allow them to change their minds.)
