Super league
So we had a final email from Anila8 about the end of the Super league.
With the passing of the super league does CC have any plans to start something similar themselves?
Anila8 has announced that he is leaving CC and currently has no active games. The programming skills that he has shown since the super league started will now be lost to CC.
Its a crying shame that it has come to this and that a dialog did not resolve this matter.
I've just unsubscribed from auto renewal and will not currently be renewing premium. Don't see the point when 40% of my games will be lost, as will the best thing about CC.
Many thanks to those that ran the Super league and made it such a huge success.

Re: Super league
To me, it's unbelievable that the C/C site will simply loose all these experience without proposing an alternate tournament? There were more than 200.000 games, with many software developments, but because of Craig's feud with the mods, nothing will be done. I am thinking about leaving this site too, and even though I know that no one will miss me much, I think it's sad to see the decadence here since I entered it, 10 years ago. There were ambicious and enormous tournaments, like the Great War, one that envolved plays in all the maps, but Craig came with the simplest idea that were a success: to imitate the football national tournaments, with ascension and fall, so that everyone who signed to the tournament knew that he will play a fixed number of games, independent of his results. Kind of hard to understand why no one in the entire site can replicate an idea so simple, perhaps because the mods care only about clan wars, olympiads and other kind of tournaments left for specialists.

Re: Super league
So no response from admin?
Re: Super league
groover and serram- the admin is working on making a fun tournament like the Super League. There is interest in that tournament, a lot of people, like yourselves really liked that tournament. I really liked that tournament. I just got to the Premier league so it's sad that it's ending. I have been doing that tournament for about 9 months.
Regarding how or when it will start, admin team is still working on that. The Super League took a lot of work behind the scenes, and without the previous team, doing things like they did with the same speed and automation is a challenge.

Re: Super league
It is such a shame. But also Craig alone who got mental meltdowns. You cannot promise that the tourney will run for years, that everybody has "years and time enough to reach premier league"..while re-commiting to those promises at the start of every new season - over and over.. and by posting those promises again at the new season..that is a renewed promise it WILL CONTINUE TO RUN FOR YEARS.. just to end it half-way.
I reacted because i care. And i reacted because of broken promises. Perhaps i should not have reacted - but thats only possible if i don't care. And i do.

Re: Super league
I 100% trust the mods to make something fun and similar, so to you guys that want to quit, I would say lets give the mods some time to make it, and then give it a chance, looking forward to see what you guys make J1

I personally liked conquer cups that got disappeared some years ago.
With my 50th tournament, I wanted to establish a new concept (2-2 tie leading to repeated challenge) but I got overheated and could not complete it.
There are many other interesting concepts on top of my head, I believe also on top of admins heads, lets connect and discuss them to start in August or September.
Definitely, we should give to admins a chance to show what they can conceive, rather than just quitting the site because of ending the Super League, but to make something really good, some time is needed.
I regret for Craig losing faith in admins, from my viewpoint they were holding his back all the time, although not always bragging about it.
My hope goes to Anila8 to remain active, we need such dedicated people like him.

Re: Super league
There are many good players and organizers here who do LOTS of work for almost NO credit and NO recognition.
But what is their reward, besides the satisfaction of knowing that they did a job well? and the recognition of their efforts by a few similar colleagues? Acceptance and "mild" appreciation of participants (most of whom rarely even say THANKS) AND THEN verbal abuse and complaints and even harrassment of a FEW, like Craig, as in this case.
That constant abuse by a few LOUD and SQUAWKING wheels (players) has its impact and wear on those who give many hours of their time to make one tournament, or another happen and what seems as effortlessly by those who never TRY to organize and manage ANY tournaments. I have seen our Site Administrator, King Achilles, take similar abuse when he really did nothing wrong.
I recently took over a bigger Leadership role in my Clan and have become aware of more dedicated organizers. I appreciate their efforts, having been a bigger part of Tournaments run by those dedicated few in CC as well as organizing tournaments within my Clan. Those things TAKE LOTS of time, and I knew that; that is why I resisted a bigger Leadership role: I did not have time to devote to such efforts.
Let me add that I have had Leadership roles in my job and in other volunteer groups; I have had such roles since I was a teen. I know, in some small ways, what goes on and why many are called to Leadership and why so few accept. And some are in leadership who accept only want the GLORY and do none to little of the work. And some "Leaders" do little to SERVE the participants, the followers, and the group of "regular folks" who do not Lead.
Those who benefit from Tournaments and other events on CC need to appreciate those who do the work, let the Leaders know of their appreciation, and, once in a while, defend those who work from the ABUSE and verbal attacks of the few. From all that I have read and now know, Craig was a leader who worked but ABUSED other organizers; he tried to bully others with verbal abuse so that he could have it HIS WAY. He is not a good person and his loss, though apparent to some, will hopefully NOT impact CC overall.
Leaders need a "thick skin" and to be able to largely deflect the slings and arrows directed at Leaders. Look at the verbal attack of so many on some of our leading politicians and other Leaders in Society. Many of us want and EXPECT our Leaders to be nearly perfect, while we want to be forgiven when we ourselves fall short of perfection in our own endeavors and actions.
Yes, any Tournament takes LOTS of work. Let those who step up (to do a similar Tournament) HAVE TIME to organize and figure things out. We who participate need to be willing to allow for mistakes and delays as a few others pick up the burden of Leadership in this large endeavor. Be kind and remember the Golden Rule. And REMEMBER that "you can't always get what you want...."

Wonderful. The best Tourni on CC by a long way has gone but you guys carry on taking the p!ss and laughing.
And before you say its not, name another tourni with 240 players that starts every month?
Most of the time there are just about 240 users online.

Yeah, and the Model-T was the most successful car of its time. Doesn't change the fact that Henry Ford was a miserable prick to everyone who had to work with him.
