Yep…wasn’t confident to post it though…could have gone France/Italy for World Cup but your post is betterrockfist wrote:Real Madrid - Barcelona

Our player wasn't able to join, so I'll join myselfChariot of Fire wrote:Hey guys
Poison Rome trips (S&M home) has been waiting for an S&M player to join the team before I was prepared to be the last 'away' player to join. And now the invite has lapsed.
Can you S&M guys sort it out please. Thank you

It could be worse…look at us. We tied Wales. Wales has a population less than my (medium sized) state of Wisconsin…and Bale is a better player than our whole country has ever produced. Our men’s team is almost as much of a national embarrassment as Megan Rapinoe.TrafalgarLaw01 wrote:When was the last and only time England won a World Cup?LFAW wrote:TrafalgarLaw01 wrote:France-Italy? As a Brit I agree with this wholeheartedly. Needs to be a lot stricterrockfist wrote:Football would be much more popular in the US if forwards didn't flop and fake injuries so much.
My oldest two children have played since they were three and play the 6 and the 5 on their respective teams so they hate flopping more than the average US American (and the average US American hates it way more than the average South American or European). I'll put it bluntly in terms an Argentine should understand, my daughter who plays the 5's favorite recent player was Ramos, but Gentile is her all time favorite. I've said it before and I will say it again. They need to issue far more cards for simulation than they do. American football is becoming less and less physical and as a result if they carded for simulation football would be able to compete with it in the US.

Diving is certainly an issue in modern football and shoul be punished more harshly, but i think thats not really the main thing about the popularity it has on the States, more they liking their own sports.Chariot of Fire wrote:Hear hear!
Was a keen football supporter as a lad but lost all interest once 'continental' players (Europeans, esp Italians/Spanish) started playing in the English leagues and introduced us to diving (aka cheating). I now find the women's game far more honest.
Best approach? Review the simulation - we easily have that technology - and ban a player for 5 games. On the salaries they're on their managers would soon call a stop to it!
100% agree on the assessment here… (rock/COF:TL)rockfist wrote:I live and grew up in the states and I think diving is the main issue today. Historically it was liking our own sports but our own sports have been nerfed with all the changes to them and become politicized which is a turn off to many people. There is an opportunity now, but it won't last forever.

The biggest divers were never the foreigners, though. Just look at Gerrard and his starfish.Chariot of Fire wrote:Hear hear!
