Curia Regis
Domus alta victor feret, et in aula regis perpetuo obtinebit locum. Sic rex locutus est, et sic erit
Court is assembled. The lot is cast, and the tourney is called. The king shall wager all, and we shall see whose fortune rises.
I’ve taken some time lately since giving up certain obligations and just been playing maps I enjoy. Since I’ve been enjoying just playing again for fun, I decided to run a set of tourneys on those maps. This is the first of a series of tourneys on maps I enjoy hopefully. First up, is Kings Court 2 (K2).
For the players who routinely play Kings Court 2, we do so because we love the map. It is a fun map. Especially when playing someone who is well versed in it. The back and forth is tremendous and enjoyable. The game can hang on the balance for a few rounds until one is able to submit the opponent into a slow submission from superior strategy, or at times from some dumb luck pending on settings or drop.
On K2, here is where the noblest are found, here is where we assemble. Here is where we shall duel. Before the king. Before the council. Blood shall drip on the kings floor…
FORMAT:
Ideally, we will have 16 players or more. But I will run with less if that’s all that joins.
The map is K2, mandatory settings are 1vs1 or poly, sequential, 24-hour games, 30 rounds limit for 1vs1, 20 round limits for poly. Otherwise, each player will choose their home settings. All other settings are permitted.
Round 1: Every player will play each other once on their home settings. Point system will be 3 points for win on home map, 1 point for win on opponent’s map. Top half of players with highest points move to bracket play.
Round 2: The top half of the players will move to a single elimination bracket play. Best of 3. Each player will play each other on their home map. If still tied after first 2 games, then they will play a single tiebreaker with the following settings (chosen based on first options on start game): 1vs1, Standard (No Poly), Auto deploy, Escalating, Chained, Fog.
The final will be best out of 5. 2 games on each home map. Tiebreaker for game 5 same as above for settings.
And so, let it be said…Victor non solum rex, sed etiam imperator cognoscetur
Do you have what it takes? Test your merit and valour, and submit your house and chosen settings.
This is the way of kings, as it should be.

In please, chained, escalating, sunny, no trench (I hope I got that right)
Re: Curia regis
House mirabile optimum semper will participate. Poly 3, Auto, No Spoils, Chained, Fog, Trench
Re: Curia regis
When you posted 1v1 was mandatory, I figured this meant no poly. Please take me out, don't like poly very much, especially on this map.Devante wrote:House mirabile optimum semper will participate. Poly 3, Auto, No Spoils, Chained, Fog, Trench
Re: Curia regis
Sorry if not clear. Your home map can be 1vs1 and the tiebreaker would also be 1vs1. But others can pick poly as home settings if they want. Hope that clarifies. I'll adjust tourney text alsoshoop76 wrote:When you posted 1v1 was mandatory, I figured this meant no poly. Four noble houses henceforth, who else rises to this challenge? Or is your house too weak to face these initial four formidolosi nobiles...

I'll go with the classic kC2 Poly 3, Chained, Fog, Trench, No Spoils.
Re: Curia Regis
Classic indeed. The preferred method also of House Mirabile optimum semper for slaying its foes. Your noble house is added good sirTrafalgarLaw01 wrote:I'll go with the classic kC2 Poly 3, Chained, Fog, Trench, No Spoils.

No issue here. Just post your preferred settings for the map and whether 1vs1 or polySoN!c wrote:I would like to play too but perhaps i should not be "trespassing"?. So asking first if its ok to join?, if not np at all - i understand.

I'll play as long as the games won't be sent out faster than 1 set per week.
KCII - Poly 4 - NS, Ch, F, No Trench

Re: Curia Regis
I expect each set will last a couple of weeks given the map size and poly being an optionSwimmerdude99 wrote:I'll play as long as the games won't be sent out faster than 1 set per week.
