if you do not know:
Helen and Klaatu rush to Barnhardt's home. They hope that Barnhardt can hide Klaatu until the meeting later that evening. Klaatu tells Helen that if anything should happen to him, she must go to Gort and say, "Klaatu barada nikto".

Legacy
The Day the Earth Stood Still received recognition from the American Film Institute and was selected for preservation in the United States Library of Congress' National Film Registry. In 2001, it was ranked number 82 on 100 Years ... 100 Thrills, a list of America's most heart-pounding films.[28] It placed number 67 on a similar list 100 Years ... 100 Cheers, a list of America's most inspiring films.[29] In June 2008, the American Film Institute revealed its "10 Top 10" – the best ten films in ten "classic" American film genres – after polling more than 1,500 people from the creative community. The Day the Earth Stood Still was acknowledged as the fifth best film in the science fiction genre.[30] The film was also on the ballot for AFI's other lists including 100 Years ... 100 Movies,[31] the tenth anniversary list,[32] 100 Years ... 100 Heroes and Villains for Klaatu in the heroes category,[33] 100 Years ... 100 Movie Quotes for the famous line "Gort! Beautiful

“we are your friends”

or are we their food?

or are we just in the way a new bypass on some intergalactic highway, thus scheduled for demolition?

Thank GOD we have JP4 to google the phrase and explain our ignorance to us!

The big question is: how many of us bought Klaatu's album when they came out?

(I did.)

You are welcome jimb. I am so glad that jimb did NOT have to do that for us, since he is SO INTELLIGENT.....NOT...!

HONESTLY, I bet that jimb had NO idea what it meant. I did and KNEW IMMEDIATELY what movie it came from. I did not have to Google it: I knew. My post via Google and from Wikipedia merely provided details and context. As far as apologetics, I PROVED that he was CLUELESS on that error, despite his lame attempt to CLAIM that he was joking. RIGHT, jimb, go on believing that and spreading another LIE.

BUT, ultimately, what it does it really matter? jimb constantly proves who is with every lame post that is usually full of vitriol and insults.

And the Movie in discussion made no inferences on ANY of jimb wild & crazy theories about aliens. Highway? jimb already has proven he has NO knowledge of Astronomy. 'nuff said.

but you did… instead of just explaining it from your memory in simple terms you posted links from Google.

I think posting links from Google is your ‘superpower’.

It’s sad you harp on BS from other threads, cross-contaminating these threads with your vitriol.

You did? It’s sad that you think so and that what meets your definition of “proof” is so weak.

Reported. Mods… it’s very hateful for JP4 to call me a liar.

If you seriously think I confusing apologetics with apologizing then you’re dumber than I previously thought.
(Which was pretty dumb.)

Yeah… I know they’re not related to that movie… I’m pulling references to aliens from other sci-fi

The song / video says “we are your friends” I thought it funny compared to other sci-fi involving alien contact..

Standard sci-fi trope, found in many books and movies.
