Welcome to Conqueror International 2020! Based on the Esports tournament for DotA 2, this will be an exciting, prize filled series! Premium is technically not required for any qualifying tournament; however, it will be mandatory for the final tournament, and as such, this will be a premium only event.
Background
Spoiler
DotA 2, a MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena), was originally a custom game designed for Warcraft 3: Reign of Chaos. After years of development, Valve and user Icefrog collaborated to turn Dota into its own standalone game. Millions of users play and compete daily, and dozens of tournaments are held every year until the very best 18 teams qualify for The International. While the prize pool for this internationally renowned tournament began at a mere $1.6 million USD, thanks to fan contribution and growing popularity of the game, it swelled to as much as $25 million in 2018 and $34 million in 2019.
Spoiler
All players have 24 hours to join games after they've been created.
If only 1 player joins: player who joined will be given 24 hours to replace their teammate, then the team will be disqualified. If they wish to use a reserve player, they can ask.
If neither player joins: team will be immediately disqualified, and if there is a reserve team, they will be offered the spot, otherwise the other team will receive a win via forfeit.
Any player who does not join within the 24 hour window will be banned from any CI related tournament. If 1 player joins but is disqualified due to their teammate, they will not be punished for future events, only the partner that did not join will.
Any player that deadbeats any games, regardless of team's progression, will not be invited to the next round/tournament. Play your turns.
CC definition of a deadbeat: You are automatically kicked out from the game as a deadbeat if you miss 3 consecutive turns.
All of these rules are subject to my discretion; if you have a real life issue or need help, REACH OUT before the 24 hour window has expired. If you do not, I will just assume you don't care and move on.

Spoiler
Both players must be named before a team slot is reserved; there is no 'reserve me a spot I'll get you the partner name later.' If you wish to be an individual signup, you may be on the reserve list or reach out to someone else who has posted. After tournaments have filled (8 teams), players are welcome to continue signups as reserves.
Because we want 18 unique teams at the end of this series of minors, no member of a team who achieves either 1st or 2nd place in a tournament will be allowed to attend any of the others.
The maps used for the minors will be Africa, Canada, Europe, Central America, Japan, North America, Australia, South America and New Zealand.
Once all 9 tournaments have been decided and we have our 18 teams for the Major, we will begin by splitting the teams into 2 groups of 9 for a Group Stage round. Each team will choose their own maps (no Beta maps) and settings for this round (map selection may be changed for Bracket round), and play a round robin of 2 games against each member of their group (one of each teams map/settings). Each win shall give a team 1 point; at the end of the round robins, two teams will be eliminated, determined by whoever has the lowest score in each group. These points will also be used to determine seeding for Bracket Play!
Bracket play will begin with 2 brackets, with slightly different paths to the grand finals! Teams with seedings 1-8 shall advance to the upper bracket (UB), while teams 9-16 shall advance to the lower bracket (LB).
UB will play 3 rounds of best of 3's to advance to the grand finals; higher seeding will have 2 games with their map/settings, while lower seed will have only 1. Each time a team loses in UB, they are dropped into the LB.
LB is more complicated, teams that lose in the lower bracket are eliminated from the tournament. LB shall start with a sudden death round, playing a best of 1 to see who advances, with higher seed getting to choose the map/settings. Round 2 shall begin the entry of the UB teams that were eliminated. Example:
Spoiler
Team 1 defeats Team 8 in UB round 1; Team 8 heads to LB
Team 9 defeats Team 16 in LB round 1: Team 16 is eliminated from CI2020
Team 9 faces Team 8 in LB Round 2: loser is eliminated, winner proceeds
Team 9 defeats Team 16 in LB round 1: Team 16 is eliminated from CI2020
Team 9 faces Team 8 in LB Round 2: loser is eliminated, winner proceeds
Round Robin Tiebreakers wrote: After the Round Robin concludes, tiebreakers will be as follows:
*Team that has more Away wins
*Less rounds to win/faster wins
*Which team qualified earlier in the Minor series
