NFL "Taking a knee"
Yeah so, I have a ton of Dolphin stuff I need to get rid of but maybe if the NFL goes under some of this stuff could be worth money some day! Decisions.
THE DEBATE IS OVER...

It's really bigger than this.
The bottom line is that ALL Professional Spectator Sports (PSS) are stupid.
Never buy a ticket, or TV-watch any game ever again.

I can never understand the huge amounts of butthurt that came with people taking a knee for the national anthem. It's a way of protesting, and I honestly would rather prefer this over the level of ignorance displayed at college campuses that stand on the flag and rip them up. I agree that maybe they don't even know what they're protesting about, or that they are simply uninformed or lack any sort of opinion on the matter, but the beauty of all of this is, is that they have that right to form their (opinion) and to protest in a manner that isn't violent.
So what's the uproar about? I've seen kids in high school and lower not stand for the anthem, not even kneel. Lack of patriotism isn't what's killing this country, it's people that want others to do what they think is right and shut them down without a forethought.
Basically, I don't support it, but I'm not gonna get sand in my pussy and act like this is the most heinous of crimes committed.

To be clear, even professional sports with anthem-standing athletes are stupid.

On a related note, in the US it is technically illegal for citizens to do anything other than put their hand on their heart and face the flag whenever the national anthem is played:

Show me where it states "It's illegal x". If anything, this is nothing more than a proper way of how to conduct yourself during the national anthem.

It's one of those age-old circle jerks. The military fights for freedoms then the civilians willingly give up those freedoms that the military fought for. It is disrespectful but that's their right, as Americans.

It may appear cyclical but the fundamental dynamic is 'balance'.

Re: NFL "Taking a knee"
I am extremely offended by it.
I watch one football game a year, the Superbowl. May skip even that this year. I watch EVERY nascar race, and have been given a lot of grief for it over the years. However....it is the second most popular viewed sport on TV, after the NFL. Maybe now it will be #1....these drivers and teams ALL do so much for the needy, all year long. Oh....and they respect our flag, anthem and military men and women.....I'm happy about my sports preferences ;o)

-------Somewhere Jimmy "THE GREEK" is laughing his ass off...He is most likely thinking, "well that is what they were bred for, to kneel before their masters."...
...AH!,good old Jimmy...Lucky when that song is playing...I just whistle DIXIE...
...
ConfederateSS.out!(The Blue and Silver Rebellion)...You think kneeling would offend certain people, everything else seems to...
Well they're used to being huge sell outs full of shit...Republicans free them, they vote for The Democrats who wanted to keep them kneeling...I doubt blacks on an assembly line at the Ford motor co. would take a knee in any fashion...Because, guess what, their ass would be on the street, faster then you could say , fire the s.o.b...

Re: NFL "Taking a knee"
So my question is this: If waving Confederate flags and sporting swastikas and giving nazi salutes is not "disrespectful", but simply the exercise of free speech by some "very fine people"... oh, hell, you know you can finish this sentence for yourself.

Luckily they live in a (semi)free country where they have the right to protest without getting locked up, beaten or killed.

Hated is such a strong word. Can we settle on despised?

Time will tell if that's true or not. Some of the comments I'm seeing out there make me question that assumption.

Re: NFL "Taking a knee"
So here's a question I've pondered.
What is the most offensive?
(Perhaps it needs a poll)
Kneeling during the national anthem?
Waving a Confederate flag, symbol of a bunch of people who went to war against the USA?
Or wearing swastikas and giving a Nazi salute?

Re: NFL "Taking a knee"
For a dude that is overpaid and represents the NFL / USA massively supported sport....
1. The Nazi choice
2. Being a bitch about our anthem
3. You need to do more research on the flag, dude....waaaaay too simplified...and wrong (based on my inderstanding...the flag that was proposed with the specific meaning of white supremacy by some dumbass was the Stainless Flag that had a white background for white people).

---------The SOUTH was American, Confederate Flags are American Flags......Native Americans wave the C.S.A. flags..I can't imagine why...
----------A lot of other people who went to war against the USA......Wave flags here in America.......In Southwest Detroit, Mexicans wave and fly Mexico's flag...You know a country that went to war against the USA....I see kids with the Union Jack on their shirts ,the country American Rebels
As for The National Anthem ...In my Catholic School at our games, we said the Our Father, instead of playing that song...Did not say the pledge of allegiance ...Because in public schools ,they took praying out of the classroom...It was the catholic schools way to show the separation of church and state...As a private business ,people go to NFL games to watch football, not political stances on life...Take the protests outside the stadiums into the parking lots........
-------The nazis took the crooked cross from a great sign of a peaceful religion....That is not a nazi salute.......It is a Roman one...Hail Rome!!!!...Hail Caesar !!!!!!!!!!
