Promotion/Relegation Format
This year the Clan League will see the start of promotion/relegation and the CL7 starting positions have been determined by the final positions in CL6. Clans that did not enter CL6, but enter CL7 are starting in the Second Division.

The Premier Division of CL7 consists of the 12 highest placed clans of CL6 that signed up for the CL7. This means the clans that played in the Premier Division complemented by the 3 highest placed clans from the Second Division (that signed up in time) to make up 12 clans.

The rest of the clans form the Second Division.

After CL7 is finished, the bottom 4 clans of the Premier Division will be relegated to the Second Division. The 4 highest placed clans from the Second Division will be promoted to the Premier Division.

Drop-outs:

If 1 clan drops out of the Premier Division, we relegate only 3 clans. If more clans drop out we relegate the amount needed to still have 4 clans promote from the Second Division. If more than 4 clans drop out of the Premier Division, we promote more clans to stay on 12 clans. If a clan eligible for promotion drops out, we promote the next placed clan of the Second Division.

Disqualifications:

Any clan disqualified from CL6 cannot enter CL7. Any clan disqualified from CL7 cannot enter CL8, etc.
----

CL7 Format
The Clan League is no longer divided in two phases. With the introduction of promotion/relegation we no longer play the Qualifying Phase and only play the Division Phase.

Clans play each other within their divisions to determine division winners.

The phase consists of a double round robin, i.e., each clan plays each other twice in the same round, with 8 home and 8 away games. Each set of 8 games is considered a match.

Per match, points will be awarded as follows:

 • Win: 2 Points
 • Draw: 1 Point
 • Loss: 0 Points

The clan with the most points in each division will be the winner of that division.

Tie-Breaker Rules:

If 2 or more clans end up with same amount of points their placement will be based on (in order):

 1. Game Difference
 2. Difference in head-to-head results
 3. Difference in head-to-head game wins
 4. Difference in head-to-head away game wins (if still more than 2 clans tie)
 5. Difference in total away wins
 6. Difference in total away game wins

In the unlikely event 2 clans still end up tied, they will play another round with home and away games to determine their placement.

Note: Games won by forfeit do not count as game wins for the tie-breaker rules.
----

Use of Games, Maps, Settings and Players
Every round will consist of 2 matches, i.e., 8 home and 8 away games between the same clans, a total of 16 games.

Games:

For every round the 2 clans will set up the following 8 home games with their choice of maps and settings:

 • 2 Doubles
 • 3 Triples
 • 3 Quads

Settings:

All games must be 24 hour games, i.e., no speed games.

The following settings are not allowed:

 • Manual
 • Freestyle
 • Round Limits (Except where marked as optional)

The following settings are allowed for maximum 3 home games per round:

 • Spoils: Zombie
 • Reinforcements: Parachute & None (with "None”, round limit optional)
 • Special Gameplay: Trench Warfare (round limit optional)

Maps:

A map may not be used while it is still in Beta.

Maps can be used three times in the Division Phase. A map can only be used once per home set, per round.

The random map option can be used without limitation.

Players:

Players can play a maximum of 3 games per match (set of 8 games).

Clans need to use a minimum of 10 different players per match (set of 8 games).

A clan member who played for one clan in CL7, cannot play for another clan in in CL7.
----

Creating, Posting & Filling Games
We will have rounds starting every 2 weeks, on a Sunday (see schedule). The clan contacts are responsible for creating the (home) games, inviting their players and ensure the games are filled correctly and in a timely manner. Merely inviting players does not mean that the game is filled!

At the start of every round the home clan contacts have to:

 1. Create the home games
 2. Post the home games (game numbers only) in the appropriate thread
 3. Invite the assigned home players and make sure the games get filled

Creating and posting the games should preferably be done on the same Sunday the round starts. However, the deadline for doing all of the above is the Thursday after the start of the round, at 18:00 hrs. CC Time. That means there are 5 full days to get this done. Any home games not created and posted by the deadline may be forfeited and count as wins for the opponents (see notes below).

After Thursday, 18:00 hrs. CC Time, the away clan contacts have 5 more days to:

 1. Invite the assigned away players and make sure the games get filled

This makes the absolute deadline for joining all games the second Tuesday after the start of the round, at 18:00 hrs. CC Time. Any game not filled by that time may be forfeited (see notes below). If one of the 2 clans did not fill the game, the game will count as a win for the opponent. If both clans did not fill the game, it will not count.

IMPORTANT: Communication is key!

First clan contacts: Please contact the TOs if you have a problem meeting a deadline and/or if you know you are going to be absent for a certain period. Normally it’s no problem to give an extension of the deadline and, if necessary, to transfer your privileges to the second clan contact.

Second clan contacts and other clan members: Please contact the TOs if you think your first clan contact is awol and/or has not been online for a while and the next round is coming up. We can transfer the privileges and help your clan to stay on schedule and avoid missing deadlines.

Notes:

 • Failure by the clan contacts to follow either or any of the above rules will result in a warning. Repeated failure will have consequences (see General Rules).
 • The TOs will do their best to keep on top of things, send reminders, check for inconsistencies, etc. However, the ultimate responsibility for following the above rules rests with the clan contacts. Please contact the TOs if you find your opponent is not following the rules.
 • In the interest of fairness for all clans, any game that breaks the rules about map use, allowed settings, minimum or maximum amount of players allowed, etc. will have to be remade, even if it’s already ongoing. This does not apply once a game has finished.
 • If a player joined more than 3 games per match (set of 8 home or away games), the opposing clan may choose which game or games have to be remade.
 • To avoid games having to be remade it is strongly recommended that the away clan contacts check the home games for errors before inviting their players.
 • It is optional to send a PM to the opposing clan contacts with the games and/or assigned players.
Schedule
As mentioned above, one round will be played every 2 weeks. Rounds will always start on a Sunday. Every round will consist of 1 set of 8 home and 1 set of 8 away games (2 matches) between the same clans, a total of 16 games.

----

Medals
Clan Achievement Medals will be awarded to the winners of the each division.

To determine which players will be awarded a medal the rules of the tournament section of the “Clan Medals” topic apply.

Clan Achievement Medals will be awarded to each division’s MVP.
----

General Rules & Comments
General Rules:

 • All the CC and Clan rules will be in effect, unless stated otherwise in this post.
 • There will be no 12 hour Fog of War rule in effect. Clans can decide between them if they want to apply it. There will be no enforcement by the TOs or CDs.
 • Game abuse like purposely running out of time or throwing a game is prohibited.

Consequences for breaking any rule mentioned in this post will be determined on a case by case basis, depending on the severity, repetitiveness, and possible effects on the results of this tournament. The consequences can vary from a warning to the remaking of a game, or point deductions, or in the worst case, to forfeits, or expulsion of a player, or disqualification of a clan.

Clans leaving CL7:

If a clan leaves CL7 for whatever reason(s) all results involving this clan will be annulled. The clan will not be eligible to enter CL8.

Comments:

 • Clans are encouraged to solve minor issues between themselves. However, if you feel that a clan or a player has broken a rule, please report this to the TOs. Same goes for any other problem you encounter during this clan event.
 • Lindax, the Clan Tournament Director, is ultimately responsible for running the CL7. If you disagree with a ruling by anybody else in this tournament, please contact Lindax. If you disagree with a ruling by Lindax, please contact IcePack, the Clan Department Head.
 • By signing up your clan, you, your clan and your players express agreement with all the rules mentioned in this post.

Disclaimer:

 • The format and the rules are subject to change if deemed appropriate by the CD Team.

FYI :
If I am correct Lindax check my math. If players can only be in 3 of the 8 games, you need a minimum roster of 9, not 10.
Players:
Players can play a maximum of 3 games per match (set of 8 games).
Clans need to use a minimum of 10 different players per match (set of 8 games).

Is this correct .

A match is a clans eight games. A round is both clans eight games. So, in a round a player can be in six games, but a maximum of three for each clans games.

Edit: the rules seem to stipulate that a map could potentially be used three times for doubles on the same settings within the divisional phase; is this correct?

Whether you would technically only need 9 players or not is not the point, you'll need to use a minimum of 10. Obviously not every player has to play 3 games.

There is no restriction to what game type or settings you use for the 3 times you can use a map.

Backing what St, our first contact for CL7 raised, can we clarify the "roster" rules by a tweak in this statement:
Whether you would technically only need 9 players or not is not the point, you'll need to use a minimum of 10. Obviously not every player has to play 3 games.

to something like
------------------------------------
YOU:LL l PROBABLY. ALMOST CERTAINLY, BET YOUR BOTTOM DOLLAR need to use a minimum of 10, and more.
--------------------
-----------------------------------
:D :D :D

What is even more important is to clarify the difference between round and a match/-Home games and away games, when it comes to roster
A match is a clans eight games. A round is both clans eight games. So, in a round a player can be in six games, but a maximum of three for each clans games

To be specific

1.When slotting Legionnaires into our HOME Games against Ret, we are talking of a match where ST will have 25 slots to fill, lots of opportunities to slot people in,

2 dubs 4
3 trips 9
3 quads+ 12
Total slots+25

2 In fact, as they can only be in max of 3 of our 8 HOME Game,s he will need a minimum of 9 clan mates for our HOME GAMES, probably more.

3. For AWAY games he could draw on a mix of players used in the HOME GAMES and bring in new players right then and there.same rules apply- 25 slots to fill, will need a minimum of 9 clan mates probably. more .

Bottom line-
There will be 50 slots for a clan to fill when it squares off against another clan, 25 slots for Home games, 25 slots Away games
A clan can use a player in 3 Home games and/or 3 away games in a square off with another clan.

something like that?

appreciate all that you have done, are doing and will do

"Maps can be used three times in the Division Phase. A map can only be used once per home set, per round."

If I understand this correctly, we can use any favourite map only THREE times in the whole Division series? And then only on the home games? Against any & all teams? Or is it meant to be only three times per round of 16 games (home/away) , each round being separate from the others?

Sorry for being dense,

gorehound

It means a clan can only use the same map in their home games a total of three times for the entire divisional phase of the league. A map cannot be used more than once in a round.

Why bother to specify for the "divisional phase of the league" ? There is no other phase anyway isn't it?

So a question how does Random work. Does that not count toward the game count. So if a clan gets classic on a random, can that clan still play classic 3 more times ?

Yes... the map that get's chosen from Random does not count toward your totals for that map (e.g., your Classic example). Random home map selections may be used as often as you like even if it results in having >3 home games on the same map. The 3 map limit only applies when you specifically choose that particular map.

Unfortunately I'm the bearer of bad news once again.

We're now in round 7 and the amount of reminders we have to send to get games created, posted and filled is really getting a bit ridiculous.

Obviously that doesn't apply to every clan, those who get everything done in a timely manner every round, thank you for that! =D>

The rest, be aware that we will be getting more strict with the deadlines. No more mister nice guy! You miss a deadline, you run the risk of forfeiting games.

Make it easy on your clan and us, make sure you get your stuff done on time! And once again: You have a problem, contact us. We can help, by giving extensions, changing privileges, whatever it takes.

What is the point of 2nd contacts if they are not notified of anything?!?!

I strongly suggest that 2nd contacts are also notified on all reminders/warnings or really most everything.

Could potentially help keep things better on track and limit infractions.

Basically, the point of second contacts is to jump in and keep things on track if the first contact doesn't for whatever reason.

So, it makes sense that they are being aware of what goes on and we will follow your suggestion.

I have actually done that in the past, but then there were complaints that I sent PMs to second contacts that don't have privileges. :D

Perhaps in due course.

For now, let's say I have never despised any other clans or players so much. They are toxic to the clan world.
